Thank God for the SNP

I cannot think of a more obnoxious, hypocritical and just darn right irritating person than Nicola Sturgeon at this present time. If the English were to vote in their own referendum in favour of Scotland being given independence she'd oppose it. I seriously can't work this woman out, Alex Salmond was bad enough but she takes the whining about the slavery and abject poverty borne by the Scottish people because of a "nasty English government stealing all our North Sea Oil" to a whole new level.

There are a lot of misleading posts in this thread, starting with the original poster. The vote was NOT to repeal the hunting act. Had the vote been successful, hunting would still have been illegal as it is now.

The vote was to change the Hunting Act to mean that an unlimited number of dogs could be used to flush out a fox to be shot instead of the current number which is 2. This would have brought the law in England and Wales in line with Scotland, where the hunting act is controlled by Holyrood.

So this was never about repealing the hunting act, it would have still been illegal. It was about aligning the acts in England/Wales and Scotland.

As previously stated I am against any form of fox hunting but you have stated Twitters,as I did in post 26,the reason for the vote. The SNP are out to just cause as much trouble and disruption as possible and are rapidly becoming a party of no credibility.

I can hardly believe the one dimensional usual suspects on here singing the praises of the SNP. The S in SNP stands for Scottish the N stands for Nationalist, they dont just hate the Tories they hate the english and their only tactic is to disrupt the workings of our elected givernment because they want to force independance onto a scottish nation that have already voted against it.

Their tactics to vote against everything is not a sign that they dont agree with what is being proposed its just a blank tactic to be disruptive and vote NO to everything. They have no right to vote on matters that dont affect scotland because they only represent scottish voters.

The funniest thing about it is that if they got their way and didnt receive money from english and welsh tax payers they wouldnt be able to afford half of the socially progressive policies we currently pay for in scotland"

You'd like the SNP to hate the English, they don't. Im satisfied they don't hate me, or anyone else in England with socially progressive ideas. If they caused trouble on this issue, it has worked well, not against the English - fox hunting and animal cruelty transgress nationalities.

Cameron has no loyalty to England either and his party have always sold national assets to foreign buyers - and profit is the only thing he is loyal to.

If the SNP cared about fox hunting they would have brought Scotland in line with England/Wales years ago. They have had power in Holyrood since 2011.

But instead they've decided to play political games. In February the First Minister clearly stated that SNP MPs would not vote on fox hunting. It even said that on their website not long ago. Yet now they change their mind, voting against something which is the same as what they have in Scotland.

Nothing more than a cheap political stunt which strengthens the cause for EVEL.

As a previous poster pointed out, all political parties play political games. Countries too, and the are not so much games sometimes, more like regime change. Anything that stops the cruelty to animals is fine with me, that is massively more important than some people's sudden interest in the Queensbury rules of politics - people who are playing games themselves?

Or do you agree with fox hunting and animal cruelty - that's what this is about, not SNP credibility which doesn't matter at all.

Fox hunting would still have been banned after the vote. It was to change the number of dogs that are allowed to flush a fox out to bring it in line with Scotland.
