Ajose for me but I do also thing we will need a big ugly target man upset opposition centre backs and before anyone says it yes we let one go but I still maintain Smurf got it right not breaking the bank for Pope who pushes his limit in league 1

Ajose is ****. He had a purple patch where he scored a few, then he was **** for the rest of his loan spell.

Ive ever seen him play, but it is true that he couldn't make it into their starting eleven in the last part of their season.

I wouldn't put to much emphasis on that in my view as I don't think Steve Davis is that great a manager. The fact he didn't play him doesn't really say much.

I'm not sure about Ajose.

I wouldn't be doing cartwheels if he came here.

2/8 goals were penalties and as someone said above he scored his goals at Crewe in a purple patch just after arriving on loan.

He was subbed in half his games and didn't score in the last 18 games of the season, some of which he wasn't even picked for the team.

His record has been very inconsistent - a bit of joy at some clubs, poor at others.

He might improve at 23 and he has got pace but he doesn't convince me.

Pope's scoring record - heavily criticised on here - is as good as his last season, despite playing through injury.;)

...I know how he felt... I always found it difficult to score or even have any impact on a game when I wasn't picked !!!

Nicky Ajose would be a good signing for us. Every time I have seen him play against us for other clubs in the past. He has been a big threat to our defense and he shows he can do explosive runs and frighten defenses and deliver a decent finish. I think we still need an experienced striker who knows the league inside out and scores goals for fun but I think it will be hard to find one. Lets keep the faith. Can't wait for next season to get started :).
