Hear hear!! :yes::yes::yes:

One of the finest players ever to kick a ball for the Vale and also one of our longest serving players.

Quite often great players don't transfer well to management, the most prominent examples being Bobby Charlton who, IMHO, was one of the greatest players of all time (ask Pele or Beckenbauer) and Stan Matthews. It just wasn't their thing.

Bobby Moore as well

Vale fans are hilarious at times. It's 5 weeks until the opening game, by which team we'll have one or two more strikers in the squad.

Have people got nothing better to do than panic themselves silly because we haven't signed a striker yet?

Just hope we sign one soon so we can look forward to the new season without doubts lingering.

Exactly people need to calm the **** down. If we fail to sign one permanently there will be loads of youngsters wanting game time in the prem.

Rather have permanent signings if I'm honest. Loan players either do well and get injured or do well and get recalled,mor sold by there parent club and leave you in the the manure. Or flop and your stuck with them till January at the earliest.

So would I, but it is a route than many successful sides at this level take

Agree, I'm chuffed that we've not signed Elliott and even more so by where he's gone and this quote from Wimbledon's manager -

So, we were the only club in League 1 to want him?! That in itself is worrying if he's a standard of player that Page wants to play up front...although it sounds like he still doesn't really know what he wants, going from today's Sentinel -

Bradford and Gillingham were interested as well apparently

I think most people are missing the point here. Whether Elliot is good enough to be competitive is neither here or there. The fact is we were obviously outbid by a L2 side which I for one find extremely worrying.

Or we didn't follow up our interest- get a ****ing grip whingebag

Well you would , because you have a vendetta against the chairman because he didn't offer Popey 1m a season.

Personally I'm pleased we didn't break the bank for a league two standard player. We probably offered him a chance at league one for average money , he clearly doesn't think he's good enough to compete in this league and took the easy option, of league two for either the same or more money.

Good riddance to unambitious players.
