Leicester sack Pearson

I think the antics of his son and his idiot mates tipped the owners over the edge and he did himself no favours with some of his own outbursts, big sam maybe or a foreign coach who can't speak English having to take training via an interpreter, didn't do orient much good but foreign owners think differently.

One of the very best home-grown managers in the country, certainly in the top 5 UK born managers, and the stupid club do this and ensure their relegation.

No one knows the full facts about the incident with his son, could be the players were very nasty, or it could be that they were 'encouraged' - either way not the managers fault.

He will be snapped up by an ambitious club who will have a superb season, and gets my best wishes as an honest guy who wears his heart on his sleeve unlike mealy mouthed Jose Mourinho and his like.

Don't understand this comment. Encouraged by the who? They have already come out and apologised for their despicable actions.

How is it not the managers fault? He's the man in charge and in addition is the parent of one of the scumbags.

Parents cannot and should not be held accountable for the actions of their adult sons. Micky Adams had similar problems when he was at Leicester, which he got past.

Forgetting the father/son relationship as it is clearly not up to Pearson to be able to control his son, whether he is responsible for everything his players do is not even debatable - he isn't. Do managers normally resign when a player or players do something wrong - did Lee Hughes manager resign at the time of his car death incident, did the manager resign in the Ched Evans case? Did our manager resign when Dan Jones badly injured Doug Loft - something at the time described as 'permanent scarring'.

Whatever the facts of this incident, it should really be nothing to do with the managers sacking - he didn't participate in it and short of putting tags on his players, cannot stop them doing what they choose whether right or wrong.

It's Leicester's massive loss and they will undoubtedly regret their decision - a mean one as he kept them up and probably got them tens of millions of £ for doing so. Gary Linekar's comments are interesting and he totally supports the manager and thinks the club are fools.

Hughes and Evans weren't representing their club on a tour at the time of their despicable incidents as the Leicester players then and now are.

You said earlier the players were 'encouraged' potentially to do this, by whom?

I spoke to a mate of mine this morning who is a big Leicester fan and apparently Pearson was very annoyed and couldn't understand why they sacked his son - that in itself is bizarre.

Good manager but definitely something not right with him mentally.

I suspect the reason he has gone is because the club have another person lined up. The reports I read suggest this has been on the cards for several months as the "relationship has broken down" but clearly it would have stupid to sack him when a) their future in the PL was not certain and b) Pearson was managing a winning side to safety. Now it is then perhaps his replacement is available and ready to take pre-season training, they get rid. That sort of timeline fits for me.

I really don't think you can hold Pearson responsible for the actions of his adult, grown-up son - certainly when the son isn't even under the control of the club (i.e. he wasn't playing or training - he was in a hotel room). The son is old enough to make his own decisions and mistakes - nowt to do with his father if he's not there to intervene.
