We might have 4-5 new players in the starting 11 come August but we will also still have **** like Williamson in the team. If there is going to be a big turnover of players over the next two years then now was the time to get a more experienced manager in and not a novice.

But why we're so many offered a deal? Why not reduce the number of players, that's what I'm struggling to understand

It's all ifs and buts really isn't it? Listening to what Mr Smurthwaite has said, it seems if any contract was offered to Williamson, the one that has been is spot on. He will either go elsewhere, it'll cost the club less than an ordinary contract or we will have a good goal return from him.
