.@pnefc's Joe Garner named League One Player of the Year #FL72 #FLAwards

Absolute joke and ive replied to this tweet to vent my anger.

This individual represents everything that is wrong with the modern day footballer. Cheating, diving, conning referees.

:clap::clap::clap:

Football will never be rid of such cheats while they win awards like this.Football will continue to go downhill until the officials of the game get a grip and take action against such players.

Say what you want about his character but there's no denying that Garner is an excellent player.

That volley he scored in the playoffs last year (I think) was ridiculous. He's scored 45 goals in 2 years, with 20 in 28 this year. He's absolutely mint.

I do find it a little bit rich that we can talk about character, cheats and 'everything wrong with modern football' when only 18 months ago we were worshipping Hughesy, a convicted criminal, as he dragged us to promotion.

Yes he is a good footballer, without doubt.

Being a convicted criminal is totally different. This is like being awarded for his cheating, diving, conning antics. Its like being rewarded in sport for cheating. How can you expect to cut out such antics when a blind eye is turned and you can get rewarded?

I believe that the voting is by fellow professionals but is only based on the first half of the season. Can we not, for once, give credit where it is due.
I certainly can Al that's why he should never have won it. It's paramount to rewarding a good player who unfortunately is a cheat.

Without a shadow of doubt Garner is a model L1 player! A model of everything that is bad in our game!

This must be an award for cheating, diving and generally trying (and often succeeding) in conning the refs.

The sickening part about is that he can actually be good footballer. But his cheating, diving, coning of refs is way OTT.But with him getting such an award it will do nothing to eradicate this type of action from the game.I find it strange that so many fellow footballers have voted for him considering that Garners antics may very well have cost their team points or bookings. It really is time for the officials to get a grip, take control and start to punish the cheating, diving that is getting more and more into the game.It is killing the game of football.

I'd much rather the officials get a grip, take control and punish the players that are killing the game with their cheating, diving.

So you're saying it's the system, not the player at fault!

I've sold Pope & bought Garner on FIFA, it was the right decision

It is both parties. Both players and officials.

Once the officials start to take action then Garner and players like him will have to stop their cheating, diving. Then they will not be scoring so many goals etc and then not win awards such as this.He is a good footballer without doubt. But he spoils himself with his cheating, diving. You only have to think back to when he allowed a fellow team mate to be send off when it should have been himself that went. Its like rewarding him for his cheating g and he nor anyone else should be rewarded for cheating.

Can you imagine someone like Garner trying the same scummy cheating against a player like Norman Hunter?Garner wouldn't even dare put his football boots on and face such a player.
