I agree Campion does deserve a chance, Willo not have double figures in the League but that said he is only 5 goals off Popes League tally for last season.

I would keep Williamson as he is the only striker we have with the pace to worry a league 1 defence.

 

We have done ok at scoring its the other end that needs sorting out.

 

Norman says we lack fire power up front. Well as long as we intend keeping him that fire power will be back on Saturday.

 

What we need is defenders who can defend.

 

Could be that Smurf is now taking the view. Score more than them, as the defence will always go walkies during the match.

Campion must be wondering what he has to do. Half an hour in 3 games isn't go to give us an answer whether he is good enough or not. All this unproven claptrap for me is wearing thin. Lets be fair players have been given a go for far less form in the reserves in the past. And tbf I can't remember too many players in the past scoring the amount he has without at least getting a start. We could argue that Pope who clearly is proven didn't manage a goal in the same reserve game as Campion? Obviously we know Pope isn't 100% yet which is fair enough but if we are going to use fitness and unproven comments to bash Campion with then at least be fair

I like Williamson but he is an average League One level forward at best, Pope is coming back to fitness but maybe a few weeks yet before he is firing properly.

If we are honest we're not going to go up, we shouldn't go down so what do we have to lose? Throw the bloke in and given him a proper chance,

With Dodds out I'd imagine he may get a place back on the bench? But I honestly don't see him starting which is getting more and more unfair!

The thing I feel strange is why are we looking for a couple of strikers when its as people say its defenders we need, all good teams start at the back and build from there...two fullbacks and a commanding centre half who is composed under pressure would also bring out the best in Veselli is what I think we require the two fullbacks we have aren't good enough for this league

 

How is Campion going to feel if we do bring another striker or two and he falls further down the pecking order!!!

We've done ok for goals in Popes absence and he is now back. Champion is scoring for fun in the reserves and doesn't get a chance. Why are we looking for a forward????

 

Fully agree with comments that other positions are more pressing, centre half and right back IMHO as McGiverns return gives us a steady option at left back.
