Page is the manager & should be trusted to pick the team without being lambasted. Especially before a ball is kicked.

Last week I was argueing with a knucklehead on the FB page who wanted page sacked / removed.

 

Like Beechy said - we are a mid table L1 team that will lose one week and then win the next week.

I can understand th criticism of team selection as usual it was disproportionate and as usual many on OVF have been left red faced.

If the form of the first half carries on there will be a fair bit of humble pie to be rammed back down people's big gobs.

 

I've done it in the past with people like Dodds and Pope and have learnt my lesson.

I completely understand Bar1 as I've been both a vale fan and member of OVF long enough to know that people get frustrated and are allowed an opinion.

 

But week after week Rob Page is slagged off for something just like MA was.

 

The players given **** even when we play well and win.

 

I fully expect Dodds to be given **** after the match too...

 

It goes with the territory these days in football. I don't believe Page deserves to be criticised every week but sometimes he deserves it. Last week was a good example, one of the worst performances I've seen in a long time and most of it as a result of his dire selection and tactics against a side we really should have beaten. If he was a squaddie, he'd have been put on a charge for a self-inflicted injury.

 

By the way, I'm a great supporter of Dodds - probably the best striker of a ball at the club. He gets too much criticism at times but I've seen him have really bad games too and I haven't held back when I think he deserves it.

I think the one thing we would all agree on is a Vale win. Some people are natural positive thinkers whilst others are pessimists, but if we end up winning we can all celebrate together.

 

However there's 45 mins to go so let's not get too ahead of ourselves.

Some right numpties on here these days. Vale are winning and yet you still find something to bicker about.

 

Vale are an average League One side with a few very good players for this level but not enough fire power to be anything other than a mid-table team. We'll lose one week and win the next, no matter what the team selection, it's just how the season is going to pan out.

Oh I agree that's ridiculous. I know we're going to be inconsistent for me the problem lies with page having his favourites, I was disappointed and surprised today that he's gone for similar players to last week, been proven wrong but these are crap. We will lose one week and win another but I expect when we play so poorly to see some changes, clearly at the minute page is spot on. I just hope come next match we don't go for the same 11 again and pick the best side to bear Sheffield.

They've been very good so far. I was just saying these are dire that's all. But you can only beat what's on front of you so yes I will praise the team...
