Now that Remi Streete has returned to Newcastle whats is the situation with taking players on loan as we still need still to tighten the defence up.

Have we now had our full allocation of loanees or not?

Dosent say much for Robertson or veseli as centre backs really, immediately finding a replacement. Personally I'd prefer us to use them two on Saturday as mcgivern and Duffy will be back soon anyway. Let's not rely on loans as we could be unlucky and have that player recalled as with streete. Robertson hasn't been given a chance this year and veseli deserves a go at centre back.

Robertson had decent games for us last year so he wouldn't be a bad replacement if we had to. Veseli looked ok at centre half in the short time I've seen him there. Seems more sensible to try these two (or even Greenidge) than jump into another loan signing.

Does seem to be a bit of a knee jerk reaction, asking a bit much for a player to arrive tomorrow and play on Saturday. I know Leon Constantine did that but it is a bit more important for a defender to have an understanding of his team mates games than a striker.

It doesn't sound knee jerk or a definite confirmation that he is bringing someone in.

That is just a bog standard - none commital statement read to the Sentinel Reporter so he can keep his word count up. You all really need to start learning some management/poiltician speak. Page has said NOTHING in that article, just like a good manager should. It keeps the Sentinel happy because it gives them some words, it keeps the players on their toes and it keeps OVF followers at their hightened level of paranoia

Very level headed and sensible approach, Pensioner. Obivously age brings wisdom. However, I think it is sensible to debate whether we should bring in more loan signings when we already have players on the books who are capable of filling those positions or may be capable but are untries at first team level.

I think Adam Yates should stay at right back and Dickinson deserves a chance again at left back although he could play centre half. I was a bit surprised Robertson has been relegated to bottom of the squad because I think he is a pretty good centre half although perhaps the amount of goals conceded last year from free kicks is a reason? Or perhaps he has lost favour for some other reason. But he could do a job given the opportunity. I am missing something with Veseli, he is on loan from a Championship club, but to me he seemed unable to stop crosses as a fullback and it was costing a lot of goals. So is he better at centre half? Others I'm uncertain about.
