Tottenham manager

Your being over critical of Sherwood. He guided them to 6th with a team of players that weren't his own. He has the best win percentage of Tottenham managers you can't ignore that. I agree about avb but they weren't even his signings, it's well know that avb didn't want lamela or soldado

Spuds only beat the poor teams - they were rubbish against the sides with which they were competing for 4th place.

Mainly thanks to the players that AVB brought in. He had a loss ratio of 36% which the press seem to ignore, yet AVB's was only 20%, almost half that. AVB also won 44 of his 80 games in charge, while Sherwood won 14 of his 28. AVB should never have been sacked and should have been given time to work with his new signings.

As for "managing to get them to a 6th place finish", that's their worst finish since 2008-09, when they finished 8th.

I accept your stats, but you haven't yet answered the question; do you really see Spurs as title contenders whichever manager they appoint? I for one, certainly wouldn't put much money on that happening!

Exactly, that's why (unless Daniel Levy suddenly finds much deeper pockets than he's had up to now) they'll not be challenging for the Premiership title!

Levy doesn't own Spurs, he's the executive chairman

The real numpty is Levy, letting AVB/Director of Football spend all the money from Bale on 5-6 players all at one time was bad business, smacked of desperation and showed AVB's inexperience. Letting Caulker go to Cardiff was also a poor piece of business.

I don't think AVB was allowed to sign the players he wanted- that was the trouble. I think he quite obviously didn't want Lamela at all

Sherwood is better off out of it,he probably told the prima donna's at Spurs a few home truths and they went running to Levy.

Absolutely spot-on. Who'd want to be a manager with all the overpaid prima donna's in any Premiership side--the world (at that level) has gone mad--£64m to Cardiff for finishing bottom of the league and then they'll still have the 3 years of parachute payments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What chance have we and teams in leagues 1 & 2 got?

The PL is run in a similar way to the National Lottery, all the money is at the top end.

Last Saturday for instance the Lotto top prize for 6 numbers was £1.17m,for 5 numbers it was £208 and for 4 numbers just £25.

Make of that what you will.

You pays your £2 and you take your chance.
