Whatever you think of Mourinho his record in 'big' games is generally excellent. He may have had the odd bit of luck(late winner against PSG and Cavani shooting over when through before that, and of course Gerard yesterday) but tactically time and time again he gets it spot on. I had a feeling they'd win yesterday if they were level after 20 mins or so, Liverpool fell into his trap and basically got it all wrong.

They'll probably lose to Atletico now I've said that!

 

As for the league they've thrown City a massive lifeline. The Everton game is key for them now, win that and they may just have it, which is a shame as Liverpool had done very well up until yesterday and I thought it could just be their year!

Jose identified that Liverpool nave no Plan B so put in place what was needed to stop plan A and it worked..fair play to him

 

If Liverpool had had an old style centre forward to win the physical battle (plan B) they might have got something form the game.

 

Mind you if Gerrard hand't been day dreaming hey might have done so too

If it was that easy everyone would be picking up points from City and Liverpool. Chelsea have now done the double over both of them and take. 4 points from Arsenal. Don't get me wrong, it certainly wasn't pretty but it was a well thought out game plan perfectly executed.

 

No it isn't easy as one deflection or one piece of luck can change everything, Liverpool needed that luck or an Andy Carroll type in that game to give them an alternative approach, the magniitude of the occasion got to them and worryingly Sturridge didn't look fit when he came on. Ironic that Chelsea were guilty of blatant time wasting in the first half and Ba scored in time added on.

 

Mourhino's teams are well organised and disciplined but IMHO he's no tactical genius. It's easier to destroy than create.
