A business plan is just that..a plan..drawn up at the time; the day after you acquire the business you can tear it up. But the financial commitment to the creditors has to be seen through..that was Bob Young's job to get the best for them and to see it through.

The best deal being the highest "return" on their debt?

So whatever Bob Young thought about the credibility/competence of Wildes and Smurf was irrelevant?

He may have thought that they were a pair cowboys but who gives a ****?

Technically, yes.

An administrator generally shouldn't interest themselves in credibility/competence...that's not in the best interests of the creditors is it? As long as they can afford the 'purchase price' that's the only credibility required

S/ticket sales will definitely be down after this fiasco and fans will not be paying the walk up price very often next season. Smurf will not be putting any more of his cash into the club and we may not have the services of Mickey and some of our better players.

Is there any positive/good news or is Port Vale heading for L2 next season and/or possible administration?

Somebody tell me that we shall be getting new and better players and pushing for the Championship next season -- please!

Well if the thought they were cowboys he probably would not have trusted them to go thru with the purchase

However, what I don't know is what if a buyer had offered the best deal for the creditors but the plan was to run the club into the ground and sell the land etc at a profit...really don't know what the admins responsibility is there

Only regarding them being credible buyers which given that thye went thru with the deal was true. Competence? Not sure how he could possibly judge that and not his job

You're probably right but I guess that BY and his team (and the Council) will be disappointed at the likely outcome.

Possibly so..but then have things really gone so badly? It's not great at the moment but if BY had said that the preferred buyer was going to help get us promoted and consolidated in L1 and would make impreovements to the stadium would we have been anything other than pleased with that at the time?
