Another PL manager bites the dust as Swansea part company with Michael Laudrup.

The world has gone bonkers! Just what do the Swansea board reasonably expect from their manager? They won a trophy, in relative mid table (along with 10 others) and it's generally accepted that they play a good brand of football. Obviously not good enough for the Swansea board. On a completely different tangent, he was one heck of a footballer! His performances in the 86 World Cup were not far behind maradona for me.

Well I didn't think Swansea were going to go down now I'm not so sure. Strange decision.

On the face of it, it is indeed a strange decision however it has been muted he was leaving in the summer so maybe they acted now as they are falling quite quickly and possibly the players need a new focus.

Something has gone on behind the scenes here. Laudrup improved Swansea who were already a decent team. Nobody in their right mind would say "Martin, despite us being in the bottom rung of the league ten years ago, and now winning a trophy and comfortably mid table in the top flight, you haven't reached our expectations..."

Silly Swansea, best manager they have had for years , nearly lost him in the summer and then sack him because they have lost their best player to injury for two months.

 

Laudrup will be at man u I reckon by the summer.

Another daft decision. Yes they've gone on the slide a bit but as someone has posted what more can you expect of a club like Swansea, they should think where they were 7 or 8 years ago(playing us and nearly going out of the league before that!).

Sadly a great wrong in modern football is this sacking culture at the top end of the game. I appreciate you can't go losing 6 on the trot then perhaps something is wrong(or your team just isn't good enough to start with) and a change needs making but there is just no loyalty or slack with some managers.

Bit of a Steve Clarke situation for laudrup..performances/results in past 12 months have not been good
