To be fair, Dodds deserves to be behind pope, Williamson, Hughes, hugill and Tomlin to be playing alongside pope at the moment. If you'd asked me at the started of me season I'd have said we should play play 4-2-3-1 with Dodds being pope (or Hughes), but he just hasn't done anything to deserve to play.

Merry Christmas Andy. Has he had the chance though. I would try Pope and Dodds with Tomlin on the left against Roverham. Our other strikers don't track back and help the midfield out like Dodds does and this is where I fear we may be exposed. To play as we have tried with two widemen they have to be grafters and JMW in particular falls short in this aspect which exposes our midfield when the opposition have 5 in this department. Remember Notts are near the bottom of the league but with packing the middle of the park and having Grealish their number 7 they dictated for long periods of the game. Surely Roverham will offer a far greater threat.

Like I said, tactically that is my favourite formation. And it can only be dodds or Tomlin who plays in that role. Maybe we need a new player to play that role in jan or summer as Tomlin is better out wide.

I have to say, looking at those highlights, I think the first penalty was slightly harsh and intent to handle the ball was debatable. The second, the foul was outside the box. We got put of jail a bit there against one of the better passing sides in the division. They lacked a cutting edge but still can't quite see how they are where they are.

The manager that put them there has gone, their latest is expected to get them out of trouble, or so I am told by a fan, who has never been to Forest even when Notts play there, "They will never get a penny off me"

You should face the pitch when you attend vale park. He's a liability at right back . Dicko midfield ??? Thank god micky picks the side.

Can't see any reason why you'd play Duffy at CH, Yates at LB & Dicko in midfield. That's 3 players playing out of position.

 

There are very few players in the world who can play 2 positions equally well. None of them are at the Vale. Stick to playing players in their best position as much as possible. Dicko at LB or emergency CH, yates at RB and Duffy at CH.
