Plymouth Ticket Stub, - just a thought Norman

A ST is sold on the strength of giving the buyer the privilege of a seat and discounted admission for 23 Leagues games - that's exactly what you get!

And a fan who doesn't buy a season ticket may only want to see the 'big' games.EG Wolves in the league and possibly Arsenal or whoever in the FA Cup 4th round.

True but the current system is open to abuse like the recent Crewe game where fans who had attended every hone and away fixture couldn't get a ticket because ST holders were allowed to purchase multiple tickets for 'fans' who hadn't been near Vale all season.

Should only be 1 ticket per ST where there is a high demand for tickets, especially when there are less tickets than STs.

That's the club staffs issue - the system should work.

However saying that there are some tinpot clubs that cannot provide a decent away capacity - Crewe being one of them.

Exactly, it's a nicety, not a guaranteed privilege.

A club that does not give preference to STs will have less STs the next season, they cannot risk it. But that does not stop preference being given to people with stubs for previous games, over people with no stubs or fewer stubs, once STs are sorted.

The club wants to sell as many season tickets as possible. It provides money up front therefore gives cash flow. It also covers any adverse events eg drop in form, bad weather and fixtures being changed, another words money in the bank. In return season ticket holders get benefits, reduced admission and priority for tickets. If season ticket holders had no benefits why would they purchase.

On a personal note I purchase a season ticket as it allows me to budget for the games, I do travel away frequently also. It also enables me to have priority over such things as cup tickets. The reduction in price does not affect myself like a lot of other ST holders as owing to work, holidays and family commitments I miss a number of home games. By removing such privilege's as priority for tickets the club would lose a significant income stream thus commit financial suicide.

I agree with that,I thought it would be only 1 per ST for the Crewe game but, as it stands, that has been the only all- ticket game this season apart from Shortwood (,where we didn't sell out.)I would expect only a couple more this season. It's not as though ST holders are getting a glut of games to have preferential treatment.

I.m a season ticket holder i.ve been to every game this season HOME and AWAY including shorewood which I had to que up to get my ticket I have brought my ticket for the away game at preston and will begetting my ticket for the Plymouth game next week and if its a replay I will go there but some of you are saying I should not use my season ticket which I payed for in may to get a ticket for the fourth round home or away. The vale have put on sale HALF PRICE season tickets so why don't you buy one of these and you can then get a ticket for the 4th round using your half price season ticket to get one.

Until the introduction of the plastic cards season ticket holders have always had vouchers as part of their season ticket. These vouchers were used to give priority to season ticket holders for attractive games not covered by season tickets. Season ticket holders were also guaranteed their own seats for home cup ties. Many have already been denied their own seats this season for League Cup and Johnstone Paint home ties because parts of the ground have been closed. This also applied to the FA Cup tie against Salisbury. There is an implied contract that ST holders will have priority in the purchase of tickets for attractive cup ties and away fixtures. Custom and usage would indicate that the contract is legally enforcable - it does not need to be written out.
