Season Ticket Sales

Im confused as to why the Board have decided to lie about the number of season tickets sold. Like a previous post i dont know who or what to believe.

If the claims of 500 tickets sold is acurate then this is well down on the 2,000 that the club is claiming! Does Mr Deakin think that his comment, should it be proven to be wrong will do his reputation any good? It is he who has gone to press with the figures and as a professional employee with a responsability to the club and its supporters should check to make sure his information is correct.

He must realise that if he is proven to be wrong on his figures then his position within the club has become untenable as he has lost the trust of the club's supporters within days of commencing employment, in truth he is little more than a con man!

At best Mr Deakin may have proven to all that he is a liar and a fool IF his figures are wrong, at worst he may have pushed supporters like myself closer to Mo's bid given his blatant lies and belief that people such as myself will be stupid enough to believe him and not check his figures.

For the record - the 7 of us who have ST's, have not renewed nor will we until PVFC show us the repect that our money and support deserves.=========

yes I also think some kind of comfirmation needs sending on an e-mail to the Sentinel from the machine that does the printing on the ACTUAL FIGURES it must print some sort of report with the amounts of full price tkts, seniors/oap and free child tkts....its a computer for gods sake!!!!

Why cant reporters ask for some kind of concrete proof before they print LIES in the paper??

V2001 LIARS OUT!!!!!!!!!!

Benefits of telling a little white lie about season ticket sales:

1. The creditors won't get jumpy if they think cashflow will be OK for the summer.

2. People are more inclined to buy a popular product than an unpopular one. Such fibs are normal for anyone who has worked in a sales background.

3. People will conclude that Starve Em Out must have failed, so they decide to get one anyway while the prices are still cheap.

4. Nobody outside of the club is able to dispute the figure with any authority for a good few months

5. Maybe the hope is that that by early August the club will have already sold over 2,008 anyway so any claim now would be difficult to refute when the home games start again.

They didn't even have a computerised database until 2004....

They have one now and don't use it! I get all sorts of promotional emails from clubs where I've used their online ticketing. I never get anything from Vale. Very sad.

Same here Jean. Hardly a week goes by that I don't have some sort of communication from one club or another. Never had anything from my Club!

500 seems about right and in line with the low level of activity seen at the ticket office over the last few days

Really? Given all of the letters that Perry Dickin received, I would have thought that the ticket office would be INUNDATED with ST buyers!

must say it got on my goat a little bit on saturday when matt sandos kept saying bratt had told him the figuire on the way down to barnet and he had to believe it whenever anyone came on and disputed the number given

Can anyone remember what the queues were like last close season for the early birds? Any comparison this year? More people may have decided to renew by telephone/post, so smaller queues? I have heard that Inspector Morse is coming back, good idea for it to be his first case? The Valiant season ticket mystery? Who would sponsor it?

Dear X-Valiant,

The same information has been fed to me today by a very reliable source. This figure seems more realistic than the 2,000 plus being suggested by Mr Deakin.

If we succeed in this bid I promise to look back through the sales figures and confirm the accuracy of the figures cited in Mr Deakin's press release last week.

Kind Regards.

I have heard branston source is quite reliable. Its safe to say you won't succeed in in your bid.
