I used to work in Bicester, just off J9 and spent 3 years doing the journey, its possible, just about with no traffic what so ever to get to oxford in 1 hour30, its the exception rather than the norm though

I know it's possible, because I did it

My point being, there are NO teams with the exception of Bradford and Shrewsbury who may bring "Any! crowd to VP next season.

I do not include Oxford, Hereford and Northampton as relatively 'local' journeys either.

Whatever, with these muppets in charge it won't concern me - I LIKE MANY OTHERS WILL NOT BE THERE.

Perhaps these relative 1.5 hours journeys will be ok if you car-share with whatever fans remain.

Ask the board to see if you can travel with the team.........

Must be my own personal situation but I won't have any problems filling my car every other saturday for away games. I will be there whoever is in charge....HOME AND AWAY

Could you please tell me which teams bought a load of fans to Vale this year anyway? Bury? Chesterfield? Wycombe? Stockport? Lincoln?

This is a very relevant point you make. New, young Vale fans must be extremely tempted by the sparkle of the Premiership with Stoke and Man Utd on our doorstep. Why should they endure this shambles of a club, with its poor team, poor facilities, poor merchandise and very little future. I can't blame kids for not wanting to come to watch Vale - its a total joke from top to bottom. My own son has had a ST for the last 3 seasons, but I'm not going to force the club on him any longer, he can make his own choice about who he follows, and it probably won't be Vale after this seasons problems. Going to football should be about enjoyment, where kids can get entertained with what they see on the pitch, in clean modern facilites, and be able to buy decent merchandise that doesn't fall apart after one outing. Sadly this doesn't happen at Vale. Whoever and wherever my son chooses to support from now on, I may be joining him, because after 28 years I've fallen out of love with PVFC. I simply don't enjoy it anymore. Its become an ordeal.

These youngsters are our future fan base, and like Bratt stated in his recent leaflet, 'when they've gone, they've gone'.

I was forced [threats of injury to body parts] to go to Hanley shopping. As a Vale supporter it was really sad to see so many kids and teenagers wearing Stoke tops. But seeing our boards priority seems to be fending of investment and not the future of the club, lack of young future supporters should not be a suprise.

It is just a guess though and not a fact. Crawley will bring more to Vale than most of the localish teams brought this year. I imagine Luton or Wimbledon both will as well. Add to that Bristol Rovers and Plymouth and I think it will be about the same. Certainly not 300-400 average off the away following as stated earlier.

Crawley took 80 fans to York for a game that could have seen them promoted. They only took a couple of hundred to Tamworth to win the league because free travel had been provided. To suggest they'll bring more to Vale than most of the localish teams is based on what? Clearly not the numbers they've travelled in this season, gloryhunters day out at Old Trafford aside.

Only 750 watched Wimbledon win away at Histon, including home supporters, so if they can't travel in numbers for a local game when they're pushing for promotion, I can't see them bringing many to Vale Park. The old Wimbledon never travelled in numbers.

On the other hand, Chesterfield averaged the 3rd highest away following in League 2 this year, Bury the 9th best and we could lose Shrewsbury who were 5th highest for away support. Stockport were 8th best for away followings despite their awful season.
