Leek Town v Port Vale this Saturday

Just to say that if you don't want to travel too far this Saturday we are putting a side out to play Leek Town.

 

They are expecting the side to be made up of mostly Development Squad players but if it is then its a great opportunity to see what our new young talent are like.

 

leek town centre also has some cracking boozers ... Roebuck (Titanic Ales), The **** (Joules), the recently opened Green Dragon (Weatherspoons) plus for a bit of Continental the Belgian Bar (if it opens Saturday lunchtime). Along with a motley collection of other ale houses.

Wonder if the club release info as to which players are playing at which friendly?

 

Definitely wouldn't mind a look at Dicko, and some of the other new players if possible at Harrison Park.

First team at both Alfreton and Leek Micky said today, 11 of the first team at each to play 90 mins apparently as he wasn't happy with last night.

Dont drink it myself but wilkes head is amongst the best in our region for real ale so I hear, only pub in Leek thats in the national real ale guide used to be the good pub guide.

the wilkes head is the best pub in staffordshire! i'm quite tempted to go to this game, just to nip in there for a hartington ipa and then have some tea at george's chippy.

Not been in the Wilkes's for years. It was always a decent boozer when I was an A-level student at Westwood.

Very unlucky . Last weekend there was a real ale festival at Leek CC!

Dyers arms is best bet near the ground, also White Lion down there but its abit posher. Blue Mugge best pub its on wrong side of town!
