Has he confused manasger of the month awards with manager of the year?

 

On one level it will be good for them to have a 'football man' involved in running things but on another level is this the right 'football man'...I fear not.

I think that Ashley is stirring it giving Pardew grief and antagonising him to give his notice in or at the very least negotiate his release.

 

He made a big mistake giving him such a long contract and I reckon he regrets it now.

 

Doesn't make sense. Pardew's 8 year contract had a clause stating that he only got one year's money if he was sacked. He's not one of the best paid managers in the Prem so that wouldn't cost much - it would certainly cost less than a three year contract for a Cokney Irish fantasist whose relationship with the truth is very slender indeed.

He did well for them as manager for a season .

 

He was at the club for 5 months, not a season. He won 5 games out of 26. When he had his heart attack Newcastle were 15th, one point above the relegation zone. If that is doing well ............????

He also talks about players he brought in for free or negligible fees and sold for millions. He includes our Robbie Earle in that. If I'm not mistaken, he didn't buy Robbie, he inherited him. And he didn't cost 50k either. And he didn't sell him for millions, he retired due to a stomach injury.

The truth: Earle remained at Wimbledon and retired a year after Kinnear left.

The truth: Derek Llambias was never in the Director of Football role and remains as the club’s managing director.
