  1. TMITP, I’m not sure he’ll be that bothered. He’s guaranteed another 12 months salary or at least a pay off. Another player purchased as a panic buy. We’ll pay financially for some time for mistakes made at this club over the last 18 months. Hope we can manage our finances for the next 18 months. Probably be achieved by selling Garrity and our young talent.
  2. We’ve eventually disposed of our DoF and due to it being disastrous on the whole, we’re not sure if we’ll recruit another DoF. We have a manager who signed a 5.5 year contract but no one knows if or what clauses there are in his contract. If we’re relegated and DM has a release clause in his contract or a clause where he can leave if a team from a higher league made an approach for him.? With the players that we currently have, where is this going to leave us at the start of next season, especially if we are relegated to L2.? This season has been damaging for our club both in performances and how the club is being run. I base this on what I see as an irretrievable breakdown in the relationship between the club and fans, especially regarding dissemination of information and facilities at VP. The club wanting to charge a fee for a news letter, fans are stakeholders and should be appraised of certain levels of information without having to suffer and further financial cost.
  3. If and I know it’s a big if. We can take it to the last game of the season and Gibbo does us a massive favour, penalty conceded or an own goal. A bit like Lee Collins RIP, did for us when we drew 2-2 with Northampton 2013, when we got promoted. 🙏🏽🫰
  4. Firstly I wouldn’t consider someone who was going to MUFC in the 80’s or following Leek for over five years as ‘Glory Hunters’ in relation to the Wigan tickets it was a reply to fans having attended VP and being told that they hadn’t got the tickets. I was asking why PVFC hadn’t put out a message at that time. If you think PVFC play entertaining football the read OVF comments and understand them before commenting. Your last sentence just about sums you up. 😎
  5. Fosse, thank you for the reply, you’re obviously more in the know than myself.
  6. I’m not saying anything other than going to football is a way of life but it also has to be entertaining. Some ppl may well look elsewhere, I know two ppl who had ST’s for MUFC for a number of years, who both now go to Leek. Also a Shrewsbury fan who goes to watch Newcastle Town. In business there is an acronym S.W.O.T and I believe it’s a possible threat to PVFC attendances which is what the ‘T’ stands for and one that cannot be ignored.
  7. I’m wondering when FFP will come into play regarding Wrexham and Stockport. I read last week that Wrexham FC are £9m in debt to their owners.
  8. Olly, it’s not good enough. We can point the finger at Wigan but why aren’t PVFC chasing it up. As ppl on here have stated that they’ve been to the club to get tickets and they haven’t been successful. Why have the club not put out any information, to save ppl wasting their time. All this reflects poorly on our owners and ppl will adopt the attitude that they can’t be bothered either which will reflect in next seasons gates. Can’t believe I’m going to mention that Leek Town are already promoted, not too far away, with non league attendances on the up. It’ll only take a few to think I’ll take a look at what’s happening there, when PVFC are away and who knows, they might like what they see and reduce their visits to VP or cut them out altogether.
  9. VF, whist I agree with you I don’t believe we can actually pinpoint the home games Fleetwood & Shrewsbury, we’ve just been absolutely shocking since before Christmas. We could have tried to rescue the season in the January transfer window. As you look at the table we’d have only needed to sign a player/players to have got us an extra 9 points and we’d be safe.
  10. Steve, if the players were tired from Friday does that mean that we’re now going to target the winnable games in our last six remaining games and look at damage limitation in the Peterborough and Bolton games. It’s a risky strategy, I’d rather go more defensive in those two games.
  11. The only positive I can take from today’s result is that we’re not in a worse position than we were before kick off. Opportunity missed.? Definitely
  12. Yes, the Lisbon Lions of 67 all grew up within a 30 mile radius of Celtic Park. All but one in a 10 mile radius. As you say the game has changed and will there be professional lower league teams in thirty years.? Even in the EPL, now that they’ve started taking action for FFP, the bigger teams will just get richer. Not sure where the game will be or whether money will cascade down to the lower leagues. I’d like DP to stay but if a big club comes in for him then he should go with a view to securing his own financial future.
  13. It’ll be interesting to see, how much money is given to DM in the summer. This will give us a brief insight into what resources he had available to him.
  14. I was wondering if it was a private and public sector collaboration, creating another funding stream for the football club. If so that is brilliant as I’m not so sure that PVFC can survive on gate money alone.
  15. A fighting spirit, is all the fans have wanted.
  16. With Dimensions a council owned business upgrading their 3G pitches does anyone think that this will benefit PVFC.?
  17. I’d have thought that this would brought government subsidies into the club. Organisations picking up work for the government, can’t be expected to do it within their own businesses financial guidelines.
  18. Brian, due to nhs cutbacks they do. Obviously nothing major but they’re given a different title, other than nurse. The wonders of upskilling. I’d let the receptionist do everything because when you speak to them, they think they’re the font of all knowledge on medical issues.
  19. Never played at VP, but did play at the Victoria Ground
  20. Will Teddy be allowed to play.? If so count me out I’d never keep up with him.
  21. Pv1973, the released list will be very short as the majority are under contract for another twelve months, I can’t see us having the money to pay up their contracts. None of them have covered themselves in any glory this season so I can’t see us being able to sell them. As I said previously, I think we’ll need to strengthen even if relegated, so the best thing would be to try and get some of these lay abouts out on loan.
