It’s not Darren’s fault but he can get us bouncing back
Wrex replied to Jim Gammon's topic in Port Vale present
In the Championship this season there have been 20 managerial changes. The teams placed first to tenth are still with the same manager they started the season with. The other 14 clubs have done the 20 managerial changes. Birmingham changed manager when in sixth place and are now in the relegation zone. So much for new manager bounce eh? For the record Huddersfield were 21st when Darren Moore left and are now in 23rd place. Terriertalk is clinically braindead. -

I'm sure in one of Mike Baggaley's "Valiant" articles he said we had a mid-table League One budget this season. Every club in the league gets notified of the budgets of others clubs, just without the club names. If that was the case, DF has clearly completely and utterly squandered it. -

I'm hopeful that appointing Darren Moore is signalling funding the team well in 2024/5. That is now to fight for promotion. I'm concerned PV doesn't become mired like Tranmere Rovers has as a club funded enough to stay clear of the bottom of L2 but with no prospects of getting back to L1 without new ownership. -

We won't be recruiting from the step 9 village leagues where they're all going so I'm not sure this is such a pressing issue. -

Summer transfer rumours and speculation
Brian Johnson replied to werstayinup's topic in Port Vale present
For the first time ever, I'm actually going to disagree with you. Going on from what Darren Moore said to the sponsors on Monday and his pre-match interview yesterday. I think that their is going to be some big changes to put this avoidable mess right. My guess is that the first thing that he will do, will be to release every single player out of contract. It's the easiest thing to sort out first to make some room. Plus, none of them have performed for us over the past 12/18 months. So, no bother at all in letting them go. I include the reserve keeper in that too because I'm not sure if it is a good thing to have someone on the bench that know's he's not going play and also think that affects the goalkeeper that is playing because he know's that he's got no competition. I also think that their maybe 1 or 2 surprises when it come's player's under contract. It's going to be a very interesting retain list next week. -

Which sources are they ? -
Spot on. I still think back fondly to players like David Healy and Chris Killen and earlier still Neville Southall who graced the Vale shirt on loan.
-
I would agree with that. I have a feeling we'll lose at least one of Garrity and Chislett myself.

He isn’t good enough for league 1 so can’t believe Stoke wanted him plus they could offer him 10 times more in wages no one would turn that down -

Anyone listened to Darren’s interview yesterday? (I wouldn’t recommend it) 15 minutes of my life I won’t get back. ‘Training sessions have been slow to get that disappointment out of them’. Jesus -
Which just shows how bad the rest of the team were...

The priority for the club must be to decide whether they cash in on Garrity and Chislett. If they are going to then really they can recruit for any formation. If they aren't then we need to play mainly with two 10s. Played consistently as a 10 Garrity would have scored 15 plus goals. He's decent playing deeper but not irreplaceable playing deeper. On the assumption both stay we then need 2 strikers, another player as a 10, 2 midfield players, at least one left sided player and one right. Uche, Wilson, Massey and Cass will be let go. The 4 loan players to leave. Pretty much as much as they can do with the number of contracted players.

Well done fella . Even if win doesn't excuse the crap they put the supporters through . However if play well you clap them then do one . You cannot beat a man who refuses be beaten Danny Cowell Colchester manager. He said that. We all know what wrong with our squad They are beaten before a balls kicked Only happy clappers cannot see it I can see if from York UTV . Hope they win at least they send the 3000 plus home happy . Cambridge well overall there as crap as Cheltenham and Burton so whoever gets relegated out of any of them 3 deserve it . -
As much as I absolutely loved seeing Arblaster in a Vale shirt, there no way he’s player of the season for me. I agree it’s either Ben or Chizzy. I’d lean towards Ethan. He’s the sort of player that will drift in & out of games but his goals & assists return for this season edges it

Very valid point this. If they do put in the effort will stay until the end. Have no intention of personally doing anything to the detriment of my club. -
