The 2013/2014 Fixture Thread (June 19th): 'Cup Comps too

Three weeks tomorrow the football league computer delivers our most exciting list of fixtures for years.

Will we start at home? Who will we play over Xmas?

I'm going for, Oldham at home first game followed by Notts C away, and a Boxing Day a trip to Sheffield U. Last game I'm going for Swindon away.

Thoughts?

Huddersfield away in league cup and Rotherham away first league game.

These aren't what I want btw!

When is the draw made for league cup? Sure it was before league fixtures came out last year?

Yes I think it was, normally the week before the league fixtures are released. So in a couple of weeks we should find out I reckon.

Boxing Day could literally be any of the sides within 50-60 mile radius. Although I doubt it will be Crewe, Shrewsbury or Wolves. I actually think we are due a home game as we've been away at Rotherham and Hereford the last 2 years but before that we had 2 consecutive years postponed at VP didn't we?

Shrewsbury will I image take one/two of the Tuesday night slots possibly home and away on police advice. Wolves at home too would be a candidate as I can see them bringing 3.5K, away at Wolves I'd imagine isn't such a police issue as although we'll take a few they are more used to it.

From a purely selfish point of view I'm hoping we have Crawley away the last Saturday in September as we fly into Gatwick the day before back from hols, and I'm hoping it's not a big away day atmosphere the week before or a good 'un at home as I'll be in Croatia:razz:

Wolves at home first

Crawley first away game

Shrewsbury away in the cup

Colchester away Boxing Day

Bradford at home New Year

Walsall last home game

Rovrum last away game

Can't wait for the fixtures-Wolves and Sheff U like the olden days in 88-89

Then Coventry, Preston, Notts C, Shrewsbury, Crewe, Tranmere, Walsall, Rovrum, Bradford, Bristol, Swindle,Oldham all within easy travelling distance.

Posh, MK Dons-a bit further

Furthest travels-Orient, Crawley, Stevenage, Colchester, Carlisle, Brentford, Gills.

Lokks a bit better than D&R, Morecombe, Barnet and Aldershot!!

Wolves away will be the first game I look for I have stupidly pledged with my wolves supporting father in law to sit in the north bank and he will sit with me in the railway in the reverse fixture. Going to break it to him gently but no way on earth I will not be with my beloved vale fans at wolves. He ( Peter) attends all home games with me at vale and has a big soft spot for the vale apart from his hatred for lee hughes.

So wolves away first ......
