Personally I don't think that student ticket should be available for people over say the age of 25. The rest of Europe seems to have discounts on all sorts of stuff (travel, museums etc) upto this age, but if you're still a student over and above this then it's time to pay the full prices.

 

The only people I know who are students at 27 are on Tax Free bursaries of over 18k a year, or are completing PHDs and earning through consultancy and teaching on the side. Barring that they've blown thousands backpacking in gap years, yet moan now about being skint...

My wife is a mature student, it was her choice so I would not expect a student ticket for a person over 21-22 either.

a sweeping generalisation actually a lot of mature students like myself were forced into re thinks because of the economy

Totally agree with discounts for forces. I am unable to make all the games due to location and being away at times.

 

Most grounds now offer discounts for forces people. As there is stafford just up the road and about to grow in numbers, there would be an audience to tap in. All PW and Smurf need to do is contact the Stn Adj and tell them about the "Forces Discount" offer and ask them to publicise this and it would be done. Also word of mouth from fellow Vale fans on camp would stir up support as well.

 

I know I have gone to Lincoln FC to watch them, as they offered forces discount. Got in for a fiver and alot of went to watch the game during the week for something to do. Lincoln FC just sent messages to the camps around Lincoln about the offer. Surprise surprise they had a bigger weekday crowd than usual. I know Vale would not do that for a fiver - Lincoln are out of the league - hence the cheap price.
