Student season ticket

Look there are plenty of students who have more disposable income than people who are working, plenty of people working full time who have less than part timers, pensioners who have more than full time workers and so on

Every situation cannot be taken into account by the club

However I don't think student discounts should be limited by age..a student is a student..same for registered unemployed, pensioners etc

Those in work who just happen to have a lower disposable income than a pensioner or student...life's like that sometimes

With the exeption of clothing, you pay for everything. The only time you dont pay for food & accomadation is when you are in whats classed as field conditions. (Tents, sand, and getting shot at)

Not a dig at you personaly, I am always amazed at the amout of people who think the armed forces dont pay for stuff. I have been asked on more that once occasion if I paid tax as I was in the armend forces and asumed that I lived for free.

OK, thanks for your reply, - I accept that you are on a fairly low income - I wouldn't consider getting shot at for that sort of salary.

It's a shame you didn't study in during the Thatcher period, because as a mature student you'd have got a grant (which you wouldn't have had to pay back) to go to college/University and more than likely wouldn't have had to pay stupidly high tuition fees. Post Graduate education simply isn't financially feasible for the average person who is simply trying to improve themselves anymore. Bring back the 80's politics I say, a time when those with ambition were facilitated and rewarded.

Oh yes I am fully reliant on student finance atm. So I am in a tight situation atm. I agree I feel like I am being shot at most the time these days for daring to study. I may be a little older but atleast i am trying do something. But for the club to assume all students are under 21 and offer only a pricing range at them, when some of them usually most will be operating at a higher income due to different things i wont get help with. But an 18 year old working full time can get a cheaper ticket than a student at Vale that's a fact.

I think that if there was a Student discount it should not matter your age. In fact it might be more difficult the older you are as you are less likely to be living at home with parents etc.

My mate works part time and has more money than me, both me and my wife work full time. If he went to college (had did till last year) he would still have more money than me.

Well alot of the younger students here get massive help from home financially and are better off than me who is currently fully reliant on student finance which is a nightmare, when rents and stuff have been paid. It was rong of them to assume all students were younger when infact they may have better incomes than me, and that some under 21 will and do work full time.

My forces discount comment was meant as tongue and cheek, but it does surprise me that people think that we get everything free, and are well paid. Most shops in town do student, NHS, police discount but not forces. Last year i spent over 200 days away from my family which includes 2 young children, i have missed alot of very important times of there young lives like birthdays, Christmas's, first steps and such things. I know it was my choice to join up but prior to this i worked at Masons Ironstone, when i was given redundancy and after listening to RAF Vale, he sold it to me as the way forward. What the forces offered at that time was job security, which is know not the case.

Not really well paid mate but particularly better off than someone like myself atm. I can understand though it isn't easy with all you have deal with and you do deserve better pay than you get.
