minutes applause

Some ideas can be raw as an initial suggestion(and should always be encouraged) and can be the catalyst with discussion for something that suits the majority.

I would love to see a scarf ,banner, flag party day but only once guaranteed promotion(might 1st home game next season unless we can be assured going into the northampton game . Would a love a long banner across railway saying thanks to the player and new owners and possibly a fancy dress day to go with it..but like most things someone would have to co-ordinate so it has an impact.

Banners cost money :(

Wasnt a dig at you ,perhaps didnt read all comments in depth as im at work,a song would be great idea,

Anything positive is great(even someone suggesting clapping) but if some dont agree, build on the idea and with discussion it can lead to to something far greater for the majority.

Banners could cost but subject to stewards allowing them into ground, kids could make their own or part of one ,,just an idea again may be of no use but just imagine flags posters ,banners ,fancy dress on 3 sides of the ground..may be a pipe dream but you never know..from little acorns mighty oaks do grow.

Because the whole minutes applause thing has got a bit OTT. Newcastle fans started it for Gary Speed and Villa fans as support for Stylian Petrov in his cancer battle and yes, Crewe and Southend did it today for Adam Dugdale. So wouldn't it be better to save it for some of life's serious stuff, and not just the changing of directors at a L2 club?? Just a thought.

I agree. Even though I'm happy that Vale are in the good hands of Smurf and Wildes, what will it be next , a minutes applause because it's Micky Adams birthday? Give it a rest. The directors clearly know what we think of them.

The applause thing should be reserved for more meaningful circumstances, as some have already posted.

There are plenty of other ways to say thanks to W and S, including a couple of minutes chanting with an imaginative new chant, or everyone hoding a blue smurf card up at the end of the match, or.... well, any other suggestions welcome.
