I know a lot of fans were dubious about the signing, but Hughesy showed last night what a true professional he is on the pitch. Popey deserves all the praise he is getting for his goals, but Hughsey signing was always going to be the one that clinches us promotion.

His flick for Loft's penalty was a fantastic touch as was his salmon like leap for the crucial opener.

Adams is using him wisely - for 60 minutes - and he must be good to learn from in training.

Don't forget Sage the flick on for Pope's goal. Had my doubts he and Pope would work together and Pope returning to goal scoring form was after Hughes came off injured at home to Cheltenham. However last night we saw what they can do together and as part of the team.

Despite what some people have said, he and Popey have got a great understanding and they love playing together. Popey was so unlucky not to get a couple more. That header in the 2nd half where it Stuck in between Tommo's legs was so unlucky.Tommo had no idea where the ball was until he looked down.
