just looked at bbc weather lets just say i've got my snow shovel at the ready to dig myself out of the cul de sac the next 2 mornings,:( great thought we had seen the last of it :mad:

It's not actually going to be that cold though, so in theory the pitch shouldn't freeze so long as the covers are on. Clear the pitch on Saturday morning with the help of some local folk and play with an orange ball. The Football League won't want fixtures piling up at this stage in the season.

 

Saying that it's the non-league I feel sorry for. There are already quite a few teams in the Northern Prem who have still got to play 13 league matches between now and the end of April!

 

It's not only about the pitch though.You have to consider the stands,other areas around the ground like roads,footpaths etc.

I've just looked at the detailed forecast on http://uk.weather.com/weather/hourByHour-UKXX1115:1:UK?pagenum=5&nextbeginIndex=42 and they reckon it's going to be a bit parky

I'm sure everybody would be able to fit in if we had to close parts of the ground. Away End, Paddock and Lorne Street would be enough and are all flat entrances into the stands so no slippy banks to worry about...

STRONG WARM AIR ADVECTION FROM THE SOUTH WILL SLIDE OVER THIS COLD AIR, GENERATING SNOWFALL ACROSS THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF THE UK AND PERHAPS INTO THE MIDLANDS. TEMPERATURES ABOVE 800MB ARE NOT LOW ENOUGH FOR LARGE SNOWFLAKE GROWTH, BUT THE PERSISTENCE OF SNOWFALL, STRONG TO GALE FORCE WINDS IN THE LOWEST 150MB AND CONVERGENCE FROM THE STALLING FRONTS MAY CAUSE DRIFTING TO WELL OVER 20CM AT ELEVATION WITH PERHAPS OVER 10CM POSSIBLE AT LOW LEVELS.
