Have we improved since Gannon left?

Did Gannon really destroy our club or was he right and the damage was already in the making long before he came?

 

At the time I wanted him gone and to be honest if he was still here and results had gone the way they have under Mark and Geoff I believe that somebody would have been seriously injured or worse.

 

On the bigger picture though did he see something that we couldnt see after the success of Micky? A board with no money and players that arent good enough or for some reason not motivated enough.

 

Since he's gone everybody has upped the stance on the board and there is thread after thread stating how much the players are underachieving on our expectations.

 

Was he really that bad or did he just have the same problem with the club as we all do and we were just seeing PVFC for what it is through Micky coloured glasses????

Gannon didn't work, but neither are Grew and Horsefield.

Don't forget that before gannon was appointed every was desperate for it not to be grew/the cheap option. Gannon didn't work, but just because he was a disaster didnt mean that grew had gone from last choice to messiah in 72 days.

I think that Adams and the players were a fit that worked really well. Any manager was going to have a job on their hands replicating that.

 

The problem with Mr Gammon was that he didn't even try and preferred to rip everything up and impose different ways of working that didnt work.

 

Grew isnt a manager, as has been said.

I said at the time of his departure I don't think it will be the last that Vale hear about him.Seemed to be a seriously disruptive person though unable to work within a team.He was the cheap option for the board ,out of work and said he would work with the existing coaching staff.A mate said after the Shrewsbury home game that he hoped that wasn't the highlight of the season .how right was he?

Can anyone really claim that the performance in the first half was better than anything under Gannon? Come on---wake up, the players are just not up to the job! Sure, there was real hope in the first part of the season-under MA they seemed fitter & more motivated, but even before he left, the slide had already started.

So on the face of it we haven't improved whatsoever and have actually regressed, didn't exactly have to be Nostradamus to predict this though.

 

Gannon was right the players weren't good enough to last the pace at the top of the league and this would have happened with Gannon or not.

 

Horsfield should have gone after busgate and Gannon should have been allowed to bring in his own choice of assistant manager and given until the end of the season - that was the sensible course of action but no we went and got rid of the manager and appointed the youth team coach as manager who had a disastorous previous reign as caretaker, known for publically criticising the players and he went and did exactly the same yesterday - again didn't have to be Nostradamus to predict that.

Anyone who thought grew was the answer must be crazy. THe only reason people were desperate for him was because of their hate for gannon. The reason for the whole mess can be found in the board room. Wrong decision, lack of leadership, not learning from mistakes (glove/sinnott and then Gannon/horse), lack of money and mismanagement of the club.
