Cutting Ticket Prices?.

As the next home game against Wimbledon is going to see slashed admission prices. It got me thinking will it make a big difference to the size of the attendance on Tuesday?.

I am sure that Paul Wildes and Smurf will be looking at it with a keen interest to compare Saturday's gate with Tuesday's. This will perhaps persuade them or otherwise to reduce prices next season. Lets be candid here unless the crowd is at least twice as big with the half price offer then surely it would be better to leave admission costs alone.

The new owners have been a breath of fresh air but they will know that they need to be running Port Vale as a business.

Some posters on here believe that by offering a reduced Season Ticket or Admission price on a regular basis will see much larger attendances but I have grave doubts.

Lets just see how much larger the crowd is on Tuesday shall we?

Personally, I shall not be there on Tuesday and two that came with me yesterday will not be there either due to work/travel.

I think night matches generally are less well supported so I really can't see it being that much more - certainly we won't have many from 'the Smoke'.

I applaud the idea but I doubt it will add too many in reality.

only problem i see with Tuesday is how many floating supporters know its reduced admission on Tuesday? To be successful these sirt if offers need to he publicised and this one, like before christmas, hasnt been.

This game should have originally been played the week before Christmas, and the reduced admission price was put in place for that. I think it was a smart move to offer reduced admission prices at an expensive time of year, against less attractive opposition.

I was surprised, but pleased to hear, that the offer remained in place for the rearranged fixture, and massive kudos to the Wildman and Papa Smurf for this.

yes much credit is due but how many fans know about it thats my point. it needs to be in the sentinel and on the radio not everyone uses the internet

we could take a leaf out of how stoke did their cut price games in the championship. Promoted in conjunction with the Sentinel, big adverts radio coverage for weeks before the game etc. Result crowds doubled and hailed a success. As far as i can see the only promotion this offer has had is on the official website and Paul Wildes tweet. I know a number of people who would go for a tenner but will never get to hear of the offer.

It's not as simple as half the cost to double attendance, it's more a long term strategy, surely, to entice back missing fans?

I know there's a valid debate regarding attendances but also we've seen a couple of thousand more than presently in Adams' first spell haven't we?

Whether we like it or not, the departure of Adams and the ridiculous boardroom shenanigans have hurt fans and it still grates, despite our new era and current success.

Offers like this hopefully dangle a carrot to those affected, of which I consider myself to be one, to once again give it a whirl. It needs to happen a few times over a period of at least the remainder of this season to then make next years season tickets look attractive to those that haven't had one in a while.

Incoming revenue for one reduced match is irrelevant now that we're financially secure.

It was a surprise to me that the offer was still on . Although I will be attending anyway as a season ticket holder I have neither seen or heard until today that this offer is still on . Why no mention on radio yesterday or anything in the sentinel ? Not going to knock smurf n wildes just thought a little more effort in promoting this would have helped .

We normally get 1k less for week night games so if we achieve 5500 it will be a success in my eyes . Especially with the forecast drop in temps due in the next couple of days .

surely the crowd doesn't need to be twice as big to warrant cut prices, just twice as many pay on the day fans (which obviously wouldn't double the attendance)
