Released players / new signings

According to PW thursday night, we could be signing a youngster from pompey and also one from Man ure.

Jed Wallace who scored for Pompey yesterday? Having played for Whitehawk on loan in the Blue Square South for the first half of the season, paired with Tommy Fraser in midfield and helping them to top of the league

Would Pompey have played him yesterday - or to be more precise, given him his debut - if he is being lined up for a move to Vale this week? And seeing as he scored for them, would they still be willing to let him go? (unless finances dictate, but then how much would an 18 year-old be costing them?)

i live here and basically he is highly rated but as he came from non league he doesnt have a huge fee attached to his development.also..he is on a short contract due to the finances at pompey.he is one for the future and if vale get him above licerpool..chelsea and sjoke then..wow...

who says adams doesnt like youth!!!..he has been strongly linked to us but no doubt agents have their input!!

To correct my previous post it was only his full league debut yesterday - he's already started a League Cup game plus come on as sub in a couple of league games this month.

Anyway, here is an article where Wallace mentions his failed loan move to Vale from last November (note "It was just going to be another stepping stone towards playing for Pompey.") - link

  • 3 weeks later...

I see that Sky Sports reckon we had a bid rejected in January for Jed Wallace - link

Assume he was one of the 2 young players that Wildes tried to sign on deadline day and said we'd look at again in the Summer. As we also almost signed him on loan deadline day in November Adams is obviously very keen - although he might be out of our reach due to higher-placed clubs also showing interest.

Let's put it this way. Wildes has already shown how persuasive and supportive he can be of new signings. If Micky really wants him, I'd expect Wildes to move heaven and earth to try and get him. With our reputation and stock increasing by the week, we may well appeal to the young man...

Darren Murphy has left Macclesfield Town by mutual consent, having only joined them 2 weeks ago & has returned to Ireland.

murphy waste of space.

james norwood scored a hat trick for forest green and is worth a look, was lively in the cup game if i remember correctly.thought micky was impressed by his performance.
