A season defining game. I remember sitting behind the goal at Stockport on a cold evening pre Christmas. What a night that was 0-5 and we looked great.

Id have quite willingly bet a large some on us being top 3 come end of the season.

As we all now know chaos has ensued since and we are now looking at a home game against the same opposition where we simply must get 3 points otherwise our season is over with 3 games to spare.

I rarely use the term 'must win', but this is quite simply that.

What are peoples thoughts...

If we cannot pick up 3 points on Saturday then we dont deserve to get in the play offs.

Could do with another 5 going in Saturday as well to boost our goal difference. Can't see it though, hope they prove me wrong. Each game is a 'must win' now, got to take each one as they come.

I'd take a 1-0 win....we are not going to catch up on goal difference...keep the defence solid and just get a win and send Stockport down.

Think we can do it with 10pts.

 

We have winnable games Stockport, Morecambe home, Barnet away.

 

A point at Stevenage may be enough.

 

Gillingham for example have two tough away games (Rotherham & Chesterfield)

 

Torquay also have them two plus Wycombe and Accrington have gotta go to Shrewsbury.

 

But yes, we need those points, I do fear our GD is going to count against us, we just don't score enough.

i see this game as a fairly easy victory..im more worried about the morecambe home game..think thats got a draw written all over it...

We need no less than 10 points from our last four games so they are all of crucial importance.

It's doable, we just need to isolate these games. Start from scratch, focus, get our defending back to how it was, all we need is the strikers to take one or two chances and we can do it.

 

It's not over until we can't physically do it, it's unlikely but football's weird at the end of the day!!

After 42 league games last year we had 63 points compared to 62 this season.

I can see us getting 1 more win this season, I actually think Stockport will get a draw against us on Saturday.

Brilliant night, seem to remember one bloke repeatedly telling everyone to sit down though! Didn't Jake Speight sneak onto the score sheet right at the end? Their defending was woeful too!
