To take advantage on Daggenham's early bird discount you will need to purchase your tickets over the phone.

However the £1.50 charge is per transaction, not ticket, and only applies to purchases made with a credit card.

 

Tickets purchased with a debit card do not incur a transaction charge.

 

For information (From Dagenham's MD) - Port Vale FC have declined to take tickets to sell to their supporters in advance as they are still in administration. - I thought this wasn't the case. with new owners - obviously got it wrong.

Its about £26 quid return from kidsgrove to euston. So just need money for the tube on top of that, which I think is around £8 for a day pass on a saturday.

Yes Andy, The Spotted Dog in Barking is the only half decent boozer in a 3 mile radius of D&R. I spent a while trying to research an alternative, to no avail.

 

Anyone traveling on the tube to D&R (Euston Square to Barking on the Hammersmith and City Line where the Spotted Dog is, and continue (changing at Barking) on the District Line to East Dagenham) either buy an Oyster Card (keep for future London travel) and travel that way or it maybe cheaper to get a one day travel card, check at a LU ticket office.

If your not fussed about time you can get to London on the London Midland trains (faster now, although not as fast as Virgin) at I think two hours each way now and not three as they were. You can buy cheap tickets for these trains on the day ie £24 return and a 4 for 2 (if there are four of you that is) offer which makes it £12 return! Check with Stoke Station first though! There should be LM trains there and I think the last one back is around 7.20.
