SC update

Everyone should just calm down a little. If the New Owners are approached in a sensible manner, I'm sure that they will rectify the situation for future similar events.

Personally I'm disappointed because the one day that I can't attend is Wednesday and I do wonder why RS have agreed to hold the meeting on the same night as the 'Stripey Eyes' are entertaining (if that is the correct description) the 'Lardies'. Surely on another night it could have received far better coverage. It does make me wonder if this was done deliberately.

We will only know the truth if Smurf or Mr Wildes are spoken too.

The SC must realise that they can only have as much imput into the club as the two affore mentioned gentlemen decide.

so why did the SC statement say 'we are disappointed with those at the club who organised this did not choose to involve us' ?

Radio Stoke have shown little interest in Vale in the past. Now some incompetent ignorant clown within the club had organised this event and invited radio stoke but ignored the people(SUPPORTERS CLUB)who have worked very hard put in a lot of time and effort. But to top it off the event is not being broadcast live.

I am a member of the supporters club and I think that our leaders are being a little bit 'precious' and I can understand why. Over the past two years the SC have organised and chaired just about every important meeting but those days are gone. It's clear that the new 'bosses' want to run things and why not. They've paid for that priviledge. The only criticism that can be levelled against them is not having the courtesy to inform the SC Commitee of their intentions but to me that's only a minor indiscretion.

But if the club wants contact details to drive up a bigger marketing database maybe getting this to a wider audience was the idea.

The SC doesn't actually represent the majority of vale fans as an attendance %. They quote membership numbers based on "signed up" members, however using that same method of measurement this site is bigger. The actual attendance of SC meetings is far smaller and revolves around a core, which can put others off from getting involved.

The SC have done some good work, or is it certain members of th SC who have done the work? Seems the 3 at the top did loads of work and got a lot of flack aswell.

Maybe connecting with some fans who don't normally attend SC events isn't a bad thing for the marketing and development of the club?

Total over reaction IMHO.......Benson stated that the SC have very good relationship with the new owner/s who appreciate the hard they have done with other (B&G, SEO etc) groups bringing change for the better at Vale Park.

OK its a mix up in communications a blip..Whats all the fuss about......The Smurf has indicated that he WILL attend the next SC meeting.

The new owner have been here barely a week and already people are on their backs.......Give it a rest.

Anyone who was at the statue unveiling last weekend will have seen Martin Tideswell make an excellent fist of MC'ing the event and will have seen how superbly well the event was organised by the Supporters' Club. I take it the person responsible for organising the forum was there - in fact I know that is true if the person tasked with organising the forum is who I think it is.

If the person organising the forum is who I think it is, then this person seems to have issues with the SC as a result of events during some of the "protests". I wonder if Lee Blakeman is getting paid for hosting the forum when Martin and the SC would have done it for nowt as well?

I understand Mr Smurthwaite has agreed to attend an SC meeting in the not too distant future. Perhaps this tells us more clearly that anything else what he thinks of recent decisions by some of his staff.

He's been working very closely and helpfully with the SC through admin so I'd be amazed if this was his doing.

Good old Bill eh........He could not give a **** about the SC until recently as he is trying the self preservation card now.....He is after some new mates. Once a **** always a ****. I remember a certain SC man slating him during the protests......Best of buddies now...:shifty:
