If you look back at my posts (not actually suggesting you do!) then you would see I have also been a big fan of Pope and have often argued with people who slated him. I could see just how much he brought to the team. Even though I backed him even in my wildest dreams I never though he would be this prolific.

 

Spot on and I won't disagree that you were 1 of the few that defended Pope. At the time I just remember that it was Old Sage and myself that spent literally days and days defending ONE OF OUR OWN PLAYERS, whilst so called fans ripped him to shreads. Only the odd person defended/agreed with us.

Is'nt it satisfying that we could see what he brought to the team and that his contribution and selfish play helped others to shine. I'm pleased that he is able to repay our faith in him and that "The Chosen Few" (us) know a lot more about football than most on here.
