There are 3 good things to come out of Saturday !!! first,we and the players probably thought we were unbeatable playing like Brazil as we have, scoring when we want, well yesterday showed it won't be easy this season.Second we are still 2nd in the league after most of the other results went for us.Third, the gate of nearly 7000 was fantastic yesterday,Gillingham only bought about 400 fans so that's 6500+ VALE fans who have got out of the habit of staying away and long may it continue... KEEP THE FAITH ..

They bought 366. 6400 (including visitors) through the gate plus add ons whatever they are. Think it's the boxes. Shame we had a brilliant gate then lose. Seem to do it every time. Back to 4700 against D&R then

We have Bradford away before our next home match and am sure ADAMS and the players will be fired up for this one,win it we WILL get 5500 which is good for a night match .... KEEP THE FAITH

I was kind of expecting what happened yesterday so I don't feel too down, football is great for deflating you when you are on a high.

We were beaten by the better team who were much more up for it and it looked like they had four more players than us at times.

At the end of the day six points from the last three games is a good yield, had we got just got a point at Plymouth and Fleetwood but won yesterday everyone would have been happy with the five.

Anyway, it's too early go top yet... ;)

still beaten by a far better team we need to strenghen to compete in the top 6 - as for feeling down I so gutted 12 hours travelling time for 2 vale games not seen a vale goal yesterday and Torquay were my last 2 games! Im sure they wait for me to attend and decide to drop points.....

when you travel from southampton and spend a fortune in fuel and cost you tend to feel down, while im on that the vale home crowd still let me down poor again yesterday!

I realistic to know we wont win every game just hope Adams can find a plan 'B' when we fall 2 goals down.

when we can we need to strengen in attack and defence eg there is no real pressure on pope to perform he is the new richards guarenteed a place every game this isnt good for the team or him.

The players worked hard and created chances but were against a well drilled strong side who picked apart our weaknesses there manager knew how to out tactic Adams and the Gills made us look average.

If we win 5 draw 3 lose 1 of every nine game runs then we will be promoted no problem so I,m not too upset at the result yesterday we just pick ourselves up dust ourselves down and go again starting at Bradford next week

They are on a good run so the same could happen to them next week

Missed yesterdays game due to prior arrangements but was neither surprised nor too 'down' afterwards.

This squad we have is a rag-tag outfit, assembled for peanuts and let's be fair, if a number of them had left then not many would have shed too many tears.

As it is, we could easily have won 2, drawn 1 on lost 5 and before the season started who would have been the least surprised if it had of worked out that way.

Gills came with a plan that worked, just like our plans against the likes of Fleetwood, Rotherham did. It's testament to our start to the season that they changed their team, altered their tactics and played a new striker.

It's still 16 points from 8 games which, if we carry on will easily see us in the top 3 all season - however we all know that the squad is threadbare and once suspensions/injuries start to bite, and the pitches get heavier, then we may start to have problems.

That's why we need a new owner - the RIGHT owner, as soon as possible. Micky and the backroom staff, along with the team and crowd are all doing the best they can, now we need real leadershp from the top - real cash in hand to bring in loan signings as and when needed, real stability from the top to encourage fans and players alike that the future is secure.

Yes, yesterday was a dissapointment, yes, we managed to drop points again (as usual) in front of a large home crowd but in reality if we can keep up this early season momentum them who knoews what we can achieve.

Beaten by better team yesterday so no complaints really. They had obviously done their homework on us and stopped our midfield completely. Also we, unaccountably, had several players having their worst games of the season so far all on the same day. Pope and front runners seemed sadly out of steam, probably unfit but we won no headers, lost all the 2nd balls and rebounds and were outclassed first half. Credit though for the 2nd half performance when we did try and get amongst them and on another day we would have a few goals. That said I still had the feeling, even before the kick off, that it was not our day and you do get these from time to time. No time for depression, it was only one game and we must look forward to securing a new owner very soon so Mickey can buy or loan a few top class additions to this squad and we will really then be in with a reailstic chance of challenging play off postions. Keep the faith valeites, we are going places and we all have to keep on turning up come what may. Come on the mighty Vale!! ;)

Interestingly they had 5 or 6 players on who didnt play midweek - so was tiredness a factor?

Also we were unlucky that they signed the yank on Friday - a very big pitch with two slow centrebacks was made for him.

We were unbelievably nervous throughout the team, they suffered from 'expectation levels' perhaps - it cost us as we were our own worst enemies for their goals - having said that is it coincidence that the fans start chanting that nasty Macdonald chant and he immediately lost concentration at Fleetwood and gave away a penalty and yesterday the song was still in the throats of the Paddock boys when they scored from his not concentrating - he doesn't want to hear it guys !!
