Match Thread - Port Vale v Luton Town

Good effort there Vale. These are so vulnerable to pace.

This is there for us.

Played lads.

Keep up the fighting spirit and we'll beat these second half.

Ref is a complete and utter <ovf censored>. Most decisions wrong.
Think we’ve got better since scoring, we’re poor prior to that but done well as the half went on. Loads of effort, Waine, hall and Ojo impressed. Gauci as well other than that one moment of madness.
I fancy us to win this, these look shaky. I just hope the ref Dosent ruin this.

As Yates has just said the team look like they are fighting for the badge now.  Should have been doing it all season tho.

Come on Vale.  Managed to stop their players and got a goal back.

Carry on with the attacking play as their defence looks as fragile as ours at times.

Could this be set up for Gray to come on and score the winner.

These are crap and I’ve no clue how they’re so high up the table. We have to be looking at an absolutely min of a point from here and should be looking to get all 3.

We’ve clearly been the better side. Everyone playing well except Gabriel, who looks massively off. Not sure how he puts in the performance he did Tuesday and reverts back to this.

Ref is totally and utterly clueless. They are a proper dirty side and should have got more booked. Ref is so inconsistent. He’ll give something that’s never a foul and then 30 seconds later let a blatant foul run, for both sides. I’d be putting in a complaint that we’ve ended up with the same joker as the last fixture when he was also absolutely crap.

Ben Waine is so good at finishing one on ones as well. That was not easy and I’ve seen plenty of more well renowned Vale forwards miss that.

You just know he's going to make a controversial decision in the 2nd half.

Still in it. We’ve actually come from behind. We haven’t capitulated. Can still win this. There are a lot of JB critics…..they think we deserve Guardiola or Arteta at the bottom of L1 and are delusional. JB has picked a reasonable team and instilled a bit of belief in the team.

onwards and upwards for 2nd half…hopefully sneak a nice Stockley goal.

Only one.  He is bound to make more and hopefully not disastrous for us.

Difference is we’ve given loads of effort and not dropped our heads after the first goal. I think the ref was ok but always on the verge of making a crazy decision

Can’t fault us that half. We might not be Barcelona, we make some daft decisions and it’s a bit hundred-mile-an-hour at times, but we’ve shown fight and are at least having a go rather some of the limp, weak-as-p!ss performances we’ve had to endure at various stages this year. It’s been competitive and consequently entertaining and we might be on the wrong end of the result (as I said, the ref is going to do something which sways it probably seeming off GHall) but another half like that, having a proper go come what may, is all you can really ask for.

Like to see the one that looked studs up again as he didn’t give any card for that! On John I think near the Paddock.

A lovely finish by Ben Waine nice set up play by stockley and G hall

Poor goal concede

Doing ok though thought G Halls free kick had gone in close that .

Every hope for second half need too get the right balls in too Stockley and we can win this

Looking forwards too second half .

Up in Leyland and just off to say morning to my grandson before heading down to the Mothertown - treating Mrs Osh to Oatcakes for lunch then straight up to the ground, buy the tickets and then into Tommies.

Keep the momentum going. 2-1 Vale and we come from behind. Devante does NOT score. Again.

welcome to Leyland, Osh!

They are poor at defending but I think they look ok at the top end, their CB’s especially the big 38 use the ball well. I agree they are physical and cynical and the ref has had a shocker.
