But we've just beaten a side that was top of the 1st division and thrashed a side everyone thought was certs for promotion. So WHY change a winning side?

 

Because we are playing away from home, Plymouth could have a good right winger so could cause plenty of problems like Evans caused Loft so we need a specialist left back, we need an experienced central midfielder in the middle away from home - there could be a multitude of reasons for a change in selection

A lot of people on here getting very carried away, we've only played 5 league games. I only wish there were 5 league games remaining and we were in this position.

 

I cannot deny we've looked decent in these opening games but it's long season and with the size of our squad we'd be *****ed if we got a suspension or a couple of injuries.

 

Over the past say ten campaigns we've always seemed to start the season reasonably well but then always tend to fade away when winter arrives.

 

However i'm quietly keeping the faith and hoping a new owner is found in the next few months so as to strengthen our squad after Christmas in time for the run-in.

 

Spot on there. My thoughts exactly. There aren't many other sides in this division whose first 11 is better than ours going off the comments I've read on here and the match-day reviews.

 

But the problem lies in what happens if JMW or Vincent gets injured, Pope's goals dry up etc?

 

The above concerns and worries should accelerate the need to get a new owner in and remove these restirctions placed upon us at the moment if we're to bring in a couple more quality players and remain in the promotion mix for the course of the season.

 

Early days yet, but so far so good.:)

Can't believe people are saying Loft played badly.

I thought lofty was poor Saturday compared to usual standards.

I think most agree,we need the new buyer in before Xmas and keep our best ( all of them) players tied to longer contracts cause we are gonner get other clubs sniffing around and Young won't av no choice but to sell sell sell .... Sad but true :(

That has been my worry in all fairness. We need sort a buyer out soon before it is too late keep on top of it.

The club might be forced to accept the offer but noone can force the player to leave if he doesn't want to.

Dave Lofty struggled in the 1st half with their Big Number 11......I thought he settled 2nd half.....Just a one-off IMHO.........As we all know Loft is generally a class act.

Of course we can't. There's no way Vale can last a season without something crap happening.

I'm not getting carried away either but we have a competitive squad and we've just pasted the bookies favourites for promotion so it's a good start. Long ways to go yet but there is quality in the squad and don't worry about the opposition,let them worry about us for a change. So far an enjoyable season compared to the last two.UTV.

Said all along Loft doesn't need to play in the middle.

 

He is a quality attacking left back. Reminds me of Alex Smith. His defending has got a lot better as well. Against Torquay and Rotherham he had the winger in his pocket.

 

We need new owners by December 31st or we will lose 6 or 7 players.

 

If we lose 6-7 players in January, I'll buy next years season ticket for you. If we dont, you can buy mine. Deal?

Maybe it was a slight over exaggeration but the fact is if we are still in admin and in the top 3 in January teams will start looking at our players AND our manager. Although you wouldn't mind if Adams went.
