Match Thread: Port Vale v Doncaster Rovers

Wow!

I honestly can't believe that the referee thought that he saw a trip and I've just seen where he was standing and he was in the perfect position so how he thinks he's seen a trip is beyond me. All it shows is how incompetent referees are in the EFL. Penalty incident happens at 2:07.

Wasn't sure which thread to put this in, but is anything going on with Walters?

Has he been injured? Just seems odd that he can go from undropabble (player of second half of last season) to not getting on the bench.

I had three theories:

1. A bit of agent interferences again angling for a move

2. We were purposely keeping him under the radar until transfer window ends

3. Form of Ojo so good Moore has just run with that

What do you all think? We were unlucky to get two midfield injuries last night, but leaps out as the only selection failing to just have a half fit garrity on the bench. Hopefully we see Walters for the Doncaster game.

Personally I dont think we keep anybody under the radar because other clubs and scouts will all know about players anyway plus we are a club who sells players on now to build the club up

Sorry can a mod transfer these two posts to the transfer thread please to save us taking this one off course 🙂

The penalties that weren’t given to Cardiff last night and Bromley on Saturday were shockers as well. The standard of refereeing is as bad as I’ve ever known it.

That's Incredible. How on earth the ref has seen a penalty is amazing. It's not even a good dive, just a wet flop.

I would have thought the Doncaster players would have protested more, probably in shock at the refs complete ineptitude.

It's the same as the Byers sending off if we go on that then there should be 3 or 4 sent off a game and if we are going off that penalty given against Doncaster last night then there would be 10 a game, you can see why managers and fans are frustrated with it all

As I stated earlier, stay behind the Lads! Pack the Park Vale Fans

Good following for doncaster that is. Probably just sit there all game singing football in a library and Darren Moore your football is <ovf censored>. We had Shipley and ojo go off injured last night and byers is injured so we're short in numbers in that midfield. We cant really start Gabriel faal or garrity as you could tell by how they fared when coming on last night that there nowhere near fit yet.

I think if Ojo and Shipley are fit id make 1 change John for Humpfries .

Folk say what they want about Rohan Curtis is workrate is fantastic id keep him in however i went on x earlier and Huddersfield fan was saying long ball with a big target man was the way go .

Stockley injured Faal not sure on him personally is he going put the hard yards in when opposition have ball .

Im sure a asset when we have it but you gotta make sure you do your defensive duties also and press like crazy

I know Humpfries played well last night but i want more thrust from back three ,Debs didnt look at all in any trouble all game well the 85 i saw .

Another big big game where we hope Vale turn up but this time without a tragic ending .

Saturdays they normally do at home .

Curtis is very good at pressing but he doesn't really offer a goalscoring threat when he's playing as a centre forward he's better suited playing as an attacking midfielder, imo , I'd like see either Patom or Fal start on sat , over to you Darren

They can sing whatever they like mate as long as The Vale get 3 points on the board that's all that matters , fella 😬👍

Watched the Donnie v Huddersfield extended highlights last night. Appreciate highlights but they looked the better side. Grant McCann was very happy with his teams performance. Tricky game Saturday!

It’s certainly a game we should be looking to get something from, a club who came up with us is a good opportunity. We need to get a win on the board.

At least so far this season I'd be less inclined to join in with the latter.

This was given as a penalty in the Doncaster game tonight and according to Grant McCann the referee told him that he give it because he saw a trip.

How does a Doncaster fan think that is a penalty is beyond me. Standard of referees is lower now than it has been all century.
