Just seen a rumour on Twitter that Granville is actually Phil Bowers 😲

I'm not, but I do know him.

Nice try

He a got pace and movement and seemed reasonably calm in front of goal. He s got a chance. Good luck to him.

For me it speaks volumes that we haven’t signed him. League 2 player at the moment

Granville,

I’ve posted a couple of times the link to the Express and Star article which suggests that there is at least discussion taking place about Devante Cole to Port Vale.

Dunner go knocking when there’s no one at home!

he’s right when he’s right and he’s right when he’s left that one.

No one knows what sources the Express and Star have especially within the club but I guess they will have a good idea of rumours circulating around the club. they would not be much of a local paper if they did not !

If you look at Johny Druary's (Express & Star reporter) he follows 2064 Twitter users. Mike B has the decency to report that the information he uses comes from online sources. I suspect a lot of reporters are less opaque. Clubs are generally more tight lipped today than 10 years ago. The odd agent will try using social media to gain traction in transfer dealings. Football League World seems a pretty reliable source but other than that most online sources seem to be people putting 2 and 2 together; to come up with a random number. It would be a big surprise if Devante Cole is with WBA at the end of the window. He will probably end up in League 1. The stumbling block will be how close to his wage demands clubs needing a striker are prepared to pay and how much of a payoff WBA are prepared to give him in compensation for a lower wage elsewhere. I suspect he'll end up at Reading as they have 1.2 million in the bank and look to be starting the season with one striker in their squad.

That’s strange as he is in fact a league 1 player with AFC Wimbledon.

Perhaps we did consider signing him but he turned us down or we simply thought we had enough young players of potential without introducing another one.

he’s young and can improve, he a got pace and good movement, he seems composed in front of goal… like all young players he needs to work like a dog to make himself a career in football especially as a forward but I can fully see why Wimbledon signed him and I wish him well.

If Moore wanted him I think we would have signed him, same as Richards.

Loft was a league 1 player and Hackford was at Burton previously, so was Jason lowe etc. Dosent necessarily mean they are at this level.

In my opinion he’s too raw for this level, he has pace like you say and does have some potential but too many other aspects of his game need a lot of work and I’m glad he hasn’t ended up here. 4 in 24 (yes a lot of sub appearances) in a league lower Dosent suggest he’s good enough but time will tell I suppose.

Wimbledon have signed him and Orsi, (who thinks a worse signing than Hackford) I can see them really struggling to survive this season.

Good luck to him, just not against us

Unforgettable signing

13 hours ago, Granville said:

Mike Baggaley, a credible and excellent journalist, is the ONLY person to have reported this with a shred of legitimacy, he has a quote from the Vale manager saying there is nothing happening. That is a FACT.

Pedantic corner here. Moore doesn't actually say that in the whole quote about Devante Cole. He says "nothing is happening" (and this is the crucial missing part) "at the moment" - so it's more of a flat bat "no comment" reply than an out and out denial.

Full quote - "It is difficult for me to talk about other players. At the moment there is nothing there. So, I’ll stay tight lipped on it and I can’t stop the speculation linking us with such an impressive player.”
