Summer transfer rumours and speculation

It’s mad what a couple of seasons getting relegated out of the championship can do to a fanbase’s ego.

A third tier club losing out to another third tier club.

True, always thought we were a similar sized club to be honest.

I think Vale fans are under no illusions how hard leagu one will be it’s only 12 months ago when we were relegated from that division

And 8 of the 10 league defeats this season were by 1 goal ..

And all of the draws were by no goals

Points-with-Bone

Looks a good signing on paper….cant recall ever seeing him playing… I don’t suppose he s left footed is he that would be the icing on the cake.

Maybe the promise of being a more valued team member at vale than his current club helped his decision… pretty sure Rotherham’s budget will be larger than ours but I guess we think he s worth more than Rotherham do.

very solid signings so far, quietly impressive recruitment for what is going to be a really difficult task to establish ourselves in the league over the next couple of seasons.

Speaks volumes that he chose to leave with a contract on the table - clearly a bit of a mess.

I completely disagree with you on this. They are actual a very well run club with good owners and people that work behind the scenes. They just had nightmare on the field when they re appointed Evans after Warne left to go to Derby. Warne did an amazing job at Rotherham

Tend to agree.. it’s a well run club operating within its means yet it’s provided it’s supporters with a fair share of championship football over the past few years along with promotions (and of course relegations) to and from league 1.

if we mirror their levels over the next 10 seasons we will have done well and probably bettered our most successful period.

Wonder if the early announcement implies there’ll be another incoming later? Not that I’m greedy…

A very well run club wouldn’t appoint Steve Evans, hand him the keys to the transfer policy with players on huge wages like Clarke-Harris, oversee ludicrous levels of turnover, and sack him within 6 months with a squad built for his very extreme brand of football.

They might be overall pretty good but the last 12 months looks a shambles.

No club gets things right 100% of the time. They have been punching above their weight for a long time. Wouldnt say a poor 12 months turns them into a shambles

Wouldn’t think so. Off the top of my head most of our other signings this summer haven’t been timed for 5pm announcements. Guessing it’s one of those if people were wandering past the training ground and seen him it’d already be common knowledge so just get it out there.

OneMillerFan, it seems.

Their fans seem to claim - good first season, injured second, poor third (amidst a Steve Evans car-crash season).

It’s hard to fully judge a player when a club is clearly in absolute chaos and quite toxic.

Speaks volumes that he chose to leave with a contract on the table - clearly a bit of a mess.

You could argue, Joe, that we were similarly toxic during our last, relegation season, under Flickers. 👍

I think we are 2/3 signings away from looking a really strong outfit next season.

Anyone else getting concerned that we haven’t signed any one of real quality yet?

Jordan Shipley is quality. You clearly haven’t seen him.

If we could get Hakeem Odoffin too, I would start to banish any talk of struggling next season.

Bit off topic, just seen a video of kian harratt lobing chairs at people with his mates while on holiday.
