Summer transfer rumours and speculation

No idea if he’s any good but the fact we’ve offered a better deal than Rotherham shows how well-placed we are.

Can’t say I’ve seen him play, but 40+ appearances at this level last year, and Rotherham offered him a deal makes me think this could be a bit of a coup. Looks a really promising signing in the area we were so desperate. Quite a lot of games in the championship as well. Can’t grumble at this signing.

Interesting. A good age (26), tall (six foot two), with Championship experience and (according to DM's comments in the press release) "confident in possession."

So, on paper he does seem to be an upgrade on Smudge which many people were hoping a defensive signing to be.

Anyone know much about his injury record?

‘Strong efforts to keep him’

‘ball playing centre back, fast, strong, good in the air’

Hopefully he’s as good as he sounds!

Comments on this TikTok video indicate that he had a bit of a fall out with Fatty Evans… something no one can be blamed for (I still remember the video of the Crawley players dancing in celebration once he was sacked.

There is the usual nonsense from their fans on the announcement video saying he is no good … but other comments online (including this video) indicate he was pretty well liked and didn’t fit Evans style

46 appearances last season.

27 appearances season before.

40 appearances season before that.

Seems robust.

Their fans seem to claim - good first season, injured second, poor third (amidst a Steve Evans car-crash season).

It’s hard to fully judge a player when a club is clearly in absolute chaos and quite toxic.

Speaks volumes that he chose to leave with a contract on the table - clearly a bit of a mess.

I've had a brief look on the Rotherham forum and there's not too many comments yet. However, there is a thread on him leaving which may be interesting to check on in a few hours or so -

It’s very predictable how 90% of players who leave clubs are declared rubbish by that club’s fans.

Fans can never accept that, perhaps, their club just isn’t that great. Everyone who leaves is bad and they wanted them gone anyway.

Cheers for the compo.

It’s mad what a couple of seasons getting relegated out of the championship can do to a fanbase’s ego.

A third tier club losing out to another third tier club.

Like you Joe, I’ve no idea how well he’s rated since I don’t know any Rotherham fans to ask, but as long as he’s an upgrade on Smudge I’ll be happy. JR’s adage of replacing one or two of his team with better players each transfer window works for me, especially now we have a pretty solid foundation of players who have experience of this level (unlike last time).

That's good enough for me. 😂😂😂Screenshot_20250625_102149_com_opera_browser_BrowserActivity.jpg.d3ede8d42f8831424bf329409989903d.jpg

Looks a cracking signing champ experience england international during youth years. Rotherham wanted to keep him. Great age . Well done vale

Seems like a very good addition, just what we needed. DM knows what he is doing slowly building a decent squad. Got to be happy come on you whites.
