Summer transfer rumours and speculation

I doubt it TBF, 3-5-2 has worked well, why change it. Especially why would we got to 4 at the back in a league that's harder than the one we played in last year. Hall will get eaten alive if we switch to this imo.

Why change? Division. The style of football is quite different in L1. I don’t think we will get away with 2 up front leaving so much space down the sides of 3 CB’s.

I’m also convinced we will change shape so we can get more pace into the team. To me it would be crazy to have another 2 years of Curtis, probably one of the higher paid players, playing as a backup striker.

Unless we sell Curtis I can see us playing with wingers in 4231. Really do think it will suit our squad

Amos

John Iky Hall Headley

       Byers Walters

 Wilks Garrity Curtis

        Tolaj

DM has stuck to the same systems through his managerial career so i am interested to see if this is one he has used, what systems did he use in the league with Sheffield does anyone know?,I think we would all love to see some pacy players in the team

I’d love us to move away from 352 but I really don’t see Moore changing from it.
I can see us going all out to sign Imray to play RWB. One thing is for certain though, we need some pace in this side, especially at this level

If you think the already conservative management style of DM is suddenly going to change in a league above then fair play, but there's no way for me we don't start with 3-5-2

As someone else pointed out managers like to have players they know and trust so you would expect  2 or 3 come in who DM has worked with before

I have said on here before how i would love to see him come in in a wing back role,he would win us a few pens with his pace and trickery plus we seem to have a good relationship with Palace so who knows

4231 can be very conservative, or even 4321- EL Tel’s Xmas tree formation.

ihiekwe I can see for sure, but Wilks...we don't really play with wingers, the only out and out one we've got is Curtis and he's had to turn himself into a makeshift target man to get games. Unless we're thinking of playing him upfront as competition for Tolaj?

Ironically, I don't think Curtis plays anything like a winger.  He doesn't get the ball, take on and beat a man and put in a good cross.  Well, not that I've seen, anyway!

Does anybody play with out and out wingers these days ?

No. But we did well with it in 1995 so it's the way to go [emoji6]

Fleetwood retained list says remaining under contract so would likely require a transfer fee

We pay fees these days remember

Can play in a few positions including wing back so yes he is the type we like,i think he is out of contract isn't he? so would need to Gazump Fleetwoods offer to him if we were interested and a good age at 25

He’s got a year left but we have seen the club pay fees for the right player

I personally think we can do better than him. I would have preferred to keep Smudge than bring him in.

If we go into the season with

Jesse Deborah

Conor Hall

Michael Ihiekwe

Brendan Wiredu

That would be very much a massive upgrade on what we have had in League One for a number of years

He strikes me as someone who was a very good winger with pace, who has lost the pace through injury and is now trying to adapt his game.

I don’t think we will. I expect 2x CB’s.
