It’s regarding Michael Ihiekwe. Mentions Moore brought him to Wednesday from Rotherham. Think with him we’d be competing with MK if we are interested now Paul Warne has taken over there.

It would be a sad situation if we couldn’t convince a player against a year at MKDons. Moore against Warne… same again.

I don’t think they will be interested in him now at Champ. Today’s result could have given us an advantage.

I dont think MK will be the only team interested in him

Just for some perspective on the choice(s) that face PVFC and the Shanahan this close season.

I watched the first episode/series 4 of "Welcome to Wrexham" and being the first episode it was before the start of the 2024/5 season.

A Zoom call was shown of senior management at Wrexham AFC talking to the two American owners outlining cost scenarios based on objectives.

It was said if Wrexham wanted to consolidate in Lge 1 then the spend would be ca 1 - 2 million GBP but no breakdown of the cost was given.

If the owners wanted to "Go for it" and achieve another back to back promotion this time to the Championship, then the cost would be approx. 50 million GBP.

The cost would include finishing the undeveloped end of the ground, 1.7 million GBP for a new pitch (A hybrid of natural/synthetic grass, heating, improved drainage etc), closer and better training facilities, increased numbers of admin. staff as well as money for new players and wages etc. No mention of how much money was actually spent was made.

The owners obviously "Went for it" and wrote the cheque but 50m GBP is a sobering amount of money.

Surely though, and maybe I'm speaking only for myself, no one is asking for them to "go for it" and achieve back to back promotions. I'd rip your hand off to finish 10th.

Would we maybe have less to do pitch / ground / facilities wise? Not suggesting Carol does anything mad btw

That wasn't the point W003, I'm not saying PVFC are asking  the Shanahans to "Go for it", I'm just highlighting  the huge difference in the costs as Wrexham AFC directors guys saw it between the two scenarios, consolidation in Lge 1 or "Going for it".

One thing I didn't mention was the Wrexham directors made it clear to their owners that which ever way they went was associated with the obvious risk of the objective not being met.

I'm of the same opinion as you that I'd take 10th place now next season, anything better would be a bonus.

It's probs been mentioned before but if not. Both Shorrock and Plant needs to get game time, if they can't get it in Burslem, they need to go out on loan. They shouldn't be back up/second fiddle or really be playing out of position. The formation Moore plays only really allows them to play is wing back, which isn't their 1st choice. It'll be beneficial to the club, for the future or even if they are to sell is they need minutes on the pitch.

We all have to remember it was a MADE FOR TV MOVIE ..... Not all American made for TV is Real and true to life . I'm absolutely certain that the zoom meeting was prescripted and told the world what the film makers wanted the world to hear ... again not always the truth or accurate. I'm sure there was a pinch of truth embedded some where .

I’d settle for 6-7th bottom as that’s where I think our playing budget will be in a competitive league. Despite Wrexham and Birminghams’ promotions, there’s still plenty of big hitters with Luton and their parachute money perhaps the biggest.

The only teams with a smaller playing budget than Vale next season I think will be Stevenage, Exeter, Burton, Wycombe, Northampton, Mansfield and the L2 playoff winners. Does anyone disagree?

it certainly won’t be an easy season but hopefully we can get off to a decent start and be competitive.

Back to rumours, I don't really understand this Cameron Antwi link.

Every Newport fan you read on twitter thinks he's lazy and basically a passenger in a team that nearly went down, yet us and Huddersfield are being linked with a move. It's not exactly a position we're struggling for options in either, and he's got a year left on his deal so we'd have to buy him.

I thought Luton still had a two year payout from being in the premier league and Plymouth beat Brentford and Liverpool and they have good money like Peterborough as well?

Unless we are expecting a bid to come in for Walters or have even had a bid for him

Even so, every fan that's watched him this year is basically saying take the money and run. There must be better options out there, he sounds like a young version of Rakeem Harper.

You might be right and personally I think there is better out there

It is only a rumour mind so probably nothing in it tbf but we do like rumours and it's just nice to be linked with a player
