Well I think that's been a job well done overall by us. Looked good in attack and am glad Curtis approaching this with the right attitude of giving DM something to think about.

Why have we signed Walters he's so unfit and overweight. Shorrock shouldn't be playing either he needs a loan to learn how to defend. Most of the others are doing ok

At the risk of stating what ought to be obvious …

We have signed and are playing Rhys Walters because he is a very talented young player who needs minutes on the pitch to get back to full first-team fitness

We are playing Jack Shorrock  because he is a very talented young player who is a valuable part of the  first-team squad

Yeah but don't forget a lot of Vale fans on here don't think he's good enough. They're talking sh1te but don't forget it.

He is good, he’s technically fantastic but I do think a loan move would be beneficial for him. Still only 17

Take that. Played some really nice stuff in spells, keep at it Vale. With a strong bench to use if needed I fancy us here in the second half.

Heneghan away and Curtis if impresses as a sub. Other than them pair I don't see any of the others starting games.

I can't jump on and criticise a reserve team against a higher league reserve team.

Good half of football.

Vale attacked very well until the goal.

Piss poor defending for the goal. Walters lost his man and Deb just watched the man dribble past him.

Curtis and Rico looked very good.

Well done, Vale - so far so good after a more than decent half when we were the better team by a mark. Just need more grip in midfield where Lowe is being Lowe and Walters clearly not yet match fit. Rico, Curtis and Shorrock have been excellent but everyone has played their part, including young Broome with a fine save.

Just needs tweaking in midfield and we can do these.

C’mon Vale!!

As others saying good half that especially considering the 11. Just awful defending for the goal

I agree on that. Once this trophy campaign is over with. If the injury to Mitch is as bad as I fear then it might be the case recall Planty and maybe offer them Shorrock?

Definitely made DM need a good think about his best forward line especially if he applies himself the same in the 2nd half .

Rico my choice for MOTH (Man Of The Half)

Fair point. But, for tonight, can't we for once just enjoy how he's playing...??

With respect, strongly disagree.

I think Planty is really benefiting from his loan move, and it will be great for him to have a full season’s experience  at Yeovil, then come back to Vale to compete for a first-team place.

Whereas Jack is already an integral part of the Vale first-team squad

Young players develop at different paces
