Misses is happy we are all happy again, for now 😂

Excellent result and very much needed.

As to whether we are (to coin a phrase) "back on track", the acid test will be scoring and winning at home and getting results when we go a goal down

IF we can get Byers and Stockley back into the team that started today (for Lowe and Hackford) and keep Clark fit, who is like a new signing, then along with the new left wing back who looks exciting, we should start to pick up plenty of points again. Having Garrity back is huge just for the drive he gives to the team.

But today is only a really good result if we can follow it up with a win at home. Let's batter Barrow.

Thought it was a joke Curtis was dropped for Hackford after his performance last game.

But have to give credit, Hackford played well. If he could just improve some of the really basic areas of his game he’d be a good player.

Moore got the tactics right today so again have to give credit after I called for him to go before kick off.

Also word on the ref - probably best we’ve had this season. Their fans were getting on his back at the end but they were the right decisions. They were making silly cheap fouls out of frustration. I call it out when refs are dreadful so only fair they get praise when doing well.

Play Hackford in a pair and tell the lad to run and don’t think about anything else. Simplify the game to that point and he offers us something. Twice in two games he’s done that run and low ball across, thankfully this time the finish hit the spot.

We’ll see how we translate things to home performances but Donny today were a lot similar to us at home. A lot of sideways and backwards possession until it was too late and their fans were getting on their teams back.

Can't comment on today's performance as I did not watch, but great result for everyone today including DM let's hope he and the the team can build on it.

Thought Curtis was shocking when he came on. Been a very underwhelming signing so far

No surprise to me with Smudge and Ben back in the line up, both warriors and both want to win, as JoeB said earlier the Vale's record without Garrity is unbelievable, keeping him fit between now and the end of the season is paramount....Onwards and upwards.

Agreed but it wasn’t the easiest game for a forward player to come on to tbf, since we were just sat in and defending for our lives. Definitely doesn’t help him being messed about like this. Plays well last game then straight back out the team.

Great win very very happy ! Hope this sets us up for a run! Well done to the lads and DM this the least the fantastic travelling Valiants deserve!

His ball retention is poor. For someone who’s played at a lot higher level most his career, if that’s Tolaj he’s getting dogs abuse!

Port Vale record when Lorent Tolaj starts:

Played: 12

Won: 8

Drawn: 3

Lost: 1

Win %: 75

Scored: 19 (1.6 a game)

Points per game: 2.25

Port Vale record when Lorent Tolaj doesn't start:

Played: 13

Won: 3

Drawn: 6

Lost: 4

Win %: 23

Scored: 10 (0.76 a game)

Points per game: 1.25

It's absolutely stark. Obviously there's a lot more to it and I haven't checked to see if he was on the pitch when the goals were scored. Garrity is also key. But when Tolaj starts, we win a lot more, score a lot more, and gain an extra point per game. It's a bit concerning that me, some idiot on a forum, can see this but the club hasn't.

He's a poacher. Quick, strong, instinctive. Best when there isn't time to think. All three of his goals have been first-time, close-range, instinctive goals. Don't be deceived by his size. He's no target man. He's a Lee Hughes. Don't ask him to do much bar make runs in behind and tap home.

He needs to start, up front off the last defender, for every game now. 532 to free up Garrity.

Very interesting. I’m a big Tolaj fan and this backs it up.

do you have similar for Garrity?
