Sentinel reports today say that the 4 bidders are doing due dilligence and BY expects a bid possiblywithin the next 2 weeks and also a 5th Bidder has appeared on the scene but only to make enquiries and ask questions at this stage

He says if a bid does'nt come in in the next 2 weeks they will readvertise the club for sale but he expects 1 concrete bid soon

Also dissapointed with the attendance and re-iterated we need 5000 to keep the club afloat but all the uncertainty about a buyer is maybe putting people off

BY can be as disappointed as he likes with the attendance, we are all disappointed at his very poor dealings of the KR affair. I wonder how much cash our friends the administrators have been paid so far............

Meanwhile in the real world, Accrington get 1900.

I sometimes wonder what planet Port Vale is on.

Radio Stoke were discussing on Tuesday that Accringtons top earner gets £600 a week.......I would imagine that is some distance from our top earners.
They still managed to beat us though Lady V. It's all very frustrating. To be truthful the only new signing who appears to be an improvement is the keeper...... It's great to have a goalie that comes out to deal with crosses competently.

That is good management, where you find players who have the ability and will play for you within your budget. I sometimes think that we shoot ourselves in the foot, we set a larger budget, which to players and agents basically says "ask for more" and we don't get any better player.

Does anyone ever publish statistics on total wage bills for each team? I would love to know where we really rank and who was below us.

The worry is the "re-advertise" part. We have also lost one bidder (is that KR or someone else, as he was being classed in the 5 before). It is becoming clearer that no offer is going to match or even come close to the current deal, which is going to send them back to the drawing board.

I fear it could be 10 more points taken off (we're told this is the case if we don't honour the CVA) and imagine what that will do to attendances.

Didnt realise teams in Admin had large budgets, Adams is often promised one, but like last Xmas his was whisked away from under his nose. Management of other club expenses is more important, I would love to see where all the money went over the last couple of seasons.

I missed the publication of the offers, do tell.

The Conference leagues do not accept clubs without a CVA, if you really want to wind people up.

A CVA will have to be agreed with the council otherwise it is liquidation at the end of the season, a long way off, enjoy the football, and have patience.

I think there is a lot we can learn from Accrington. Firstly there is, and you can sense it in the ground, a spirit about the club which is essential in it punching well above its weight and sustaining beyond expectation League 2 football. Secondly, there is a clear realism about the club and what it can afford to pay in wages. The above post mentions £600 per week top earner, which is around the UK average male wage. I have watched Accrington on maybe half a dozen occassions now and they have no players that stand out, but they do have a unit that works well and in partcular plays neat and tidy passing football. It maybe they aspire to be promoted, but their basic model is to survive at the level they are at and have supporters come along and enjoy themselves. They have to survive in the shadow of Bolton, Burnley, Blackburn, Wigan, Preston, Man Utd and Man City.

Port Vale supporters aspire to more than Accrington but putting some of what that club has in a bottle and bringing it to Vale Park will improve the culture of the club at least.

Entry to Accrington was £17 by the way. 586 Vale supporters were prepared to travel there and pay that.
