Write Curtis off at your peril.

The whole team has looked like strangers at times. He's not alone in bedding in.

Assist King and goals will follow. Needs more than 5 league games before he's put to pasture !

Ain’t even had 5 league games mate, he will come good he’s a talent. As Guppy has just said all will play a pivotal part along the season

The energy is fantastic from Curtis Paton and Tolaj .

If BBB doesn't make it I'd put Richards in like for like, no point disrupting the flow, down that side Cover is more than good enough keep the shirt behind the winger /creative force in front, on other side both Chislett and Paton/Curtis  both going enjoy playing with John as he isn't a pass it and stand still full back he is off tearing up the left I think thst lads going be a favourite .

All of a sudden I see goals from all over .

It's going be a fantastic season

We need as a home crowd be bang up for it .

Be nice for a decent atmosphere.. like you said they'll bring a good following.

Hopefully 7500 plus and an atmosphere not as flat as a witches t*t.

Think as a fanbase we do need a good performance and effort to make an atmosphere, we can be a bit flat in the stands sometimes UTV .

I’d still like to see Smith in the back 4. Still looked shaky at the back yesterday. Benicio i hope isn’t injured but if so, Straight swap for Curtis. Same 11 other than that.

Not being funny. But what has Curtis produced that merits a recall?

Proven player at this and the level above. Got 2 assists and a goal hasn’t he so far? He’s a very good player and yesterday was the first time we have played on the front foot. For me he and Paton especially have been thrown under the bus a bit by Moore. I’d start Curtis if BBB is injured and use Richards off the bench

Seriously?

Darren Moore makes some changes to a team that isn't winning and the result is a sparkling 1-4 away win at an in-form club.

I know you are (rightly) being positive about Curtis and Paton, but I'm sure you would agree that much credit is due also to Darren.

Tough game but worth remembering despite us bemoaning our poor start Chesterfield have only picked up 1 more point in their 5 games so form wise is fairly even. Will need to defend better but if we attack in the way we did against Newport it should give us a chance, we need a result and performance at home and if we can get something here on paper we go into a kinder few games on paper.

I don't expect Chesterfield to park the bus, so it should be another open encounter, which I think suits us nicely 😎

Fair enough.  I was judging him on the two home games this season, when I thought he offered very little.

Given the way we played at Newport, I think Paton would be a better bet.

Can’t disagree, but I think he will be a big player for us this season.

If Paton plays I want to see him up top with Stockley, I think he would be wasted out wide as I thought he was on Saturday

I think it is a choice of Tolaj or Paton to play off Stockley up front. At the moment for me Tolaj holds the cards for that place. I would hope that Stockley can soon last the 90 minutes and rotate Paton for Tolaj or Chislett as the game reaches the last 20 - 30 minutes.

Fear not looks like Benicio is training according to the photos the club have just put up on instagram.

Look at some of the comments on the Chesterfield site!
I think they think they are going an away day in Kabul 😁

"Hoping port vale fans have taken some valium. Always an aggressive / unfriendly place to go"

"Yes - away fans in the Bycars End (with the salubrious Stanfield Estate and Tunstall just behind)"

"Port Vale tend to live up their nautical name and deliver messages etc., in bottles."

"Last message we got in Port Violent was wrapped around a brick!"

"Awful place. Just be careful and watch your backs anyone going to this game. It's the only place in following town home and away in the past 55 years that I have ever had a proper good hiding and also got mugged in the process!"

"If driving, be careful where you park your car and make sure nothing blue is on display."

"Not a nice walk from Longport station literally Ambush Alley"

"When they bricked the bus I was on it was 2001"

"I was working in Burslem at the time. Scary."

and then finished off with this for balance.....

"For balance I?ve been to Vale Park about 15 times, majority on the train and never had any issues really, had far worse in other places. We usually drink in Stoke, Hanley or Newcastle under Lyme and get a taxi back in, and more often than not they put a bus on after the game back to the station for those who want to use it

Few on here bed wetting a little bit I feel, or who haven?t been in the last 20 years and still think it?s 1979"

"My thoughts exactly, it?s absolutely fine"

Hardly see any trouble at Vale Park these days, even more so with the away fans not around the Hamil side (in fact most games now I see 2-3 away fans max outside Vale Park before the game as they are all coming from dimensions side. Since Carol and Kevin came in that side seems to have largely disappeared thankfully.

None of our signings should be written off!
