I'm using a standard laptop and keep hitting the "mobile" site when I go to the front page.

 

Its not a drama, but thought I would let you know.

OK - a couple of things.

 

The "displaying a different member's ID" thing is weird. I am going to try a couple of things now but I am not sure what that is and may need to get some support from VBulletin. Can anyone who gets it take a screengrab for me please?

 

The strange versions of the website is possibly a longer thing. I use a third party script that says it will redirect people automatically to the correct site. It has very good reviews which is why I used it. If you are getting this can you please let me know the following via email to [email protected]

 

- What the problem is (with screengrab if possible)

- Operating system used

- Browser used

 

I will then try and look into these as well...

Update - I have done a couple of things which I now hope will solve the duplicate user thing. If you are getting this try the old logging off OVF, clear all your browser cache and try again. If you are still getting it, do send a screengrab to my email address.

Folks - is this on the "front" page (i.e. the home page) where you see this? Or in the forum itself?

 

If it is the front page I may have to remove the component for a while till I fix it...

EDIT: If it is the home page I think I have the solution. The front page uses a caching device to make the pages display quicker. If a few of you can confirm it is the front page I will deactivate this as this may be caching the previous user's session (if you follow my drift) and causing this issue...

 

So pls let me know if it is the username/avatar on the front page causing the problems and I will attempt to fix it!

Good, I have removed the caching.

 

Anyone experiencing problems, try clearing your browser cache, logging in and out of OVF and refreshing and (fingers crossed) it should be OK now...
