Sadat Anaku in talks with Port Vale over a deal

So according to Dundee United, he signed for them in a 2 year deal which would likely mean for us if we signed him, would not involve a fee.

But in 14 games he didn't score a goal for them.

Also this, made me chuckle (their manager, when they signed him):

Quote

“That element of unknown can help us. Defenders won’t know what he’s about and he’s not easy to play against from what I’ve seen in training."

So I guess we'll see what news is coming through in the coming days. Who knows we might have 5 strikers for next season.

Lacks goals, had fitness issues, from Uganda and an element of not knowing what he's going to do next. Haven't we just managed to bin off Uche to St Johnstone??

gamble for development? One of the trialists ?        Just speculating

Do we have a scout in Scotland apart from anything Foyle does for us?

Agree on Dipepa. Massive talent, probably ahead of schedule development wise but you would like to have 3 more experienced strikers to call upon ahead of him.

You would think the pecking order would be

Stockley, Tolaj, Paton, Dipepa. Big potential but both Tolaj and Paton would need to prove they can do it in a better league than they’ve played previously.

I’d say Stockley then the other 3 pretty level right now.  Dipepa has minutes and more importantly goals at league one level.  He’s proven, all he needs to do is develop physically, which he will do naturally given his age, after that he’ll only get better as he gains experience.  For me I’d be very confident that Dipepa will score goals in League 2 whilst Tolaj and Paton are still in my view very much unknown quantities at that level.  They’re 2 players signed with the potential to be very good.  We’ve never watched either of them play beyond a couple of friendlies against low ranked teams in the case of Tolaj, who did well to be fair, so all we’ve got to go on is a bit of online content, some admittedly universally very positive feedback from the fans of both of their previous clubs and their goal scoring records on Wikipedia, which do look good, but so did Ricky Miller’s stats and folk were raving about him at the time.  So it does look very positive but we’ve  seen Dipepa in the flesh and we know he’s a mature young man who wasn’t fazed when thrown in at the deep end last season, in general played better as his minutes increased and whilst not prolific tended to hit the target with the few chances that came his way.

I believe he may have been one of the trialists at Rushall during the week.

Dipepa showed nothing fazes him when he stepped up and converted that 5th penalty for England in the shoot-out against Italy.

When's the Admiral signing? Must be soon.

I guess he would be just that a gamble who could come good, probably won't be costly and 5 forwards would give us plenty of cover In a vital position

Was that the game a trialist scored in?

I’d guess he might be a bit behind stockley and tolaj. Not seen him play but I can’t imagine that level is the highest. For me stockley and tolaj will start, with Paton and Bailey on the bench

I read in the sun newspaper 2day

Paton is coming The Vale

And they are pretty reliable 😳😁😆

Maybe useful, since with our firepower it could make the chance of a loan striker getting much game time less likely, and so not attractive to loanee clubs.
