The only way to compete using a lower wage structure is to have a very productive academy system. But that takes a few years to build up. We appear to be improving but need more time. In the meantime, a competitive budget is required, and there will always be the need to pay competitive wages to fill gaps where our academy/improvers have not produced. We know the headlines of Moore's contract, but not the important details. If he can't enthuse many of the players, a large rebuild is on the cards. What is in his and his assistants contracts?

Donaldson seems to be a bit of a Mo Chaudry figure. Likes a bit of positive publicity, but I doubt will put the big money in. Personally, I hope we can find an investor to take Carol’s work to the next level. Despite all the aggro over Flitcroft, I simply don’t think anyone could see anything more than mid table league 1 football on our current resources, even if they were used as effectively as possible.

Donaldson is minted and has obviously got plenty of common sense why would he invest now , theres no point because carol refuses to see the bleeding obvious in her rose tinted glasses and continues to back the chief piss taker and biggest conman in football Fraudcroft at the club # fubar & UTV

You should know by now everybody

Who's employed at the vale

Has to sign The official secrets Act 🙄

We've got a cracking academy

but we keep selling the crown jewels

If PV owners have the financial resources then surely the current crop of senior players must be moved on irrespective of their contract situations in order to be promotion candidates in L2 or to improve in L1 if we stay up. There is no other way except to languish in the bottom reaches of L2 on gates of 4k etc.

Brian Horton was a good Vale manager. Just off to get my tin hat ready for those that think differently.

We can't all always agree, my opinion is that he was crap. Apart from one season, he finished lower every year and managed to achieve his ambition 'having never been relegated as player or manager' as he used to spout. I thought he was complete gash. Nothing against the guy and wish him well with his health.

The government has announced its plan for an Independent Football Regulator (IFR) for the professional men's game.

Which will include:

• An obligation to consult fans on "key off-field decisions" will also be a requirement of the licence. This could include decisions on club heritage and strategic direction.

^ Maybe fan's concerns will be actioned when this comes into play, rather than being fobbed off with 'listening'.

The rumour I heard whilst in the pub was that he wanted to buy 51% of the club but Carol only wanted to sell Kevin's 49% share. As I say only a rumour, no proof.

Sure he was the manager when we went down in 2000

The future well if someone would have predicted after the euphoria of Wembley, and a absolutely wonderful day that 2 years later we would have a club performing worse than under Smurthwaite I'd have said you bonkers there's no way we could be as bad as we were the  last time  we exited league 1

As of today the 19th of March 2024 we are one if not the worst performing club in every league going down to isthian leagues or whatever its called .

That's the past wehave 9 games alter the fact we are terrible .

If we don't run harder, compete with desire and passion the future will be even worse .

For now id like Carol explain why this downturn since exciting 3-3 draw with Charlton has happened.

Why have the players not stepped up .

Do they hurt when they lose .

It hurts the fans a lot and will cause for sure a reaction a very bad one .

Why would you expect any other kind of reaction though, its like if you see someone being openly bullied you would step say leave it out will you ,no more or you will have me deal with .

Well to me that's the same with this season after sat no more defeats Vale players step up show you care show us your hurt by the poor position we find ourselves in league .

IF YOU DO Vale players then you will earn a little respect back not much as damage is generally done gates are dropping people are utterly fed up of the rubbish served up (mostly).

Leadership is required so in future Carol employ people who can lead not players who have shown by position in league there leadership is nothing  short of a sham.

I think Donaldson will buy the vale eventually , Carol's lost her way and taken her eye iff the ball, Fraudcrofts well and truly pulled the wool over her eyes and she's oblivious too it, Or is she looking at selling up hence the lack of decisive action

All I do know is , I want the club to go back to being primarily a Football club
